Issue with buying ships

So i have a recurring issue that i need help understanding. I'm trying to buy the Saratoga from the MultiOps base next to Iolia and the Shipyard button is greyed out. I had the same issue yesterday when i wanted to buy the Phoenix, they just wouldn't sell me ships. I kept running around doing missions for them, i thought maybe i needed rep with them before they sold me stuff, saved and exited the game after a while and when i reloaded it suddenly let me buy ships from them.

Am i missing something or doing something wrong? is this a bug?

You're at the wrong station. If the button is greyed out that means that that station isn't selling any ships. You need to find a one that is selling them, can't tell you exactly the name of the one that is because I don't remember it, but it's out there for sure - it's near Ioia planet.

MultiOps only has 2 bases as far as i can see. I bought the Phoenix at the base right under Iolia, the shipyard button is greyed out on it now and i can't buy anything there.

That's weird, I haven't had that issue before. Have you checked if there's more of the stations from them? I think there's more than two, might be in different zones however.

These are the only 2 i've found so far, i could try finding more but still, it makes no sense that they'd only sell me ships some times...

The saratoga is sold at plymouth and cardiff stations. You should always be able to buy a ship at the stations its sold at, they dont run out of stock.

Would the ability to access the shipyard have anything to do with your reputation with that faction? I am having the same issue with Iolia, and my reputation is not bad but mediocer.

You're at the wrong shipyard, that's what was happening to me as well. I think it was a bug that allowed me to buy from that station the first time. You're looking for Plymouth or Cardiff stations, as Lord Scanthax said. I think the one i finally bought from was north of Iolia. The problem is that these stations are not marked as MultiOps, they're Iolian stations hence the confusion.

We'll have to check this some more. MultiOps is industrial corporation that works within Iolian borders, but they are basically controlling everything, including weak Iolian government. Perhaps we should have made this also "official" in names...

Ah, maybe i should have checked out the faction lore section, this actually makes a lot more sense. But yes, for clarity, and people like me who might not bother checking out faction lore, it should be made clear. Because when i was looking for MultiOps ships i expected them to be sold at one of the 3 MultiOps stations :)
