Volton tips?
I've tried using the volton and haven't found it very useful. Anyone got some hints how to use it?

I love using them for reflecting incoming fire from the Heavy droids (wave 15/20 etc), power-up management (moving them to the side of the platform for example), and then sometimes just slamming droids into/under the platform

Go double Volton, don't be afraid to get hit, and just practice. See how far u can get. It gets fun.

My favourite leaderboard is "Brawler" (just shields, or voltons). So much fun!

I mean specifically how to inflict damage with them. The axe mode's range is very short and whipping robots into things does minimal damage.

Smashing droids onto the plaform with you bat does a lof of damage...

Particularly in slow-mo

I've never been able to destroy one by smashing it into the platform, I must be doing it wrong. I'll practice some more.

Also if you have two voltons you can also use one to reflect bullets while using the other one to pull them into the ricochet.

As for smashing them into the platform, all you have to do is grab them and swing down.

I have the same problem. I smash the droids into the floor 50 times over and over and over and over but they won't die.

To the people having trouble smashing the drones are you using both voltrons at the same time on one drone? When you grab a single drone with both voltrons you can smash them into the ground harder.

To the developer. Is there plans to add positional audio to the voltrons themselves? I noticed when dancing with them after a game and bringing them up to my head that they did not get louder. It would be really cool to be able to hold both voltrons up to your ears and really hear the inner workings of the voltrons

The whip idea does seem really cool but I don't think there's ever a situation where it's more effective than a gun:

A) a few well-aimed shots
B) lose your shield in exchange for maybe being able to damage/destroy an enemy in a slower, less effective way which also puts you at greater risk (IIRC enemies can still attack while grabbed)

If there was an enemy in the game that was easier to kill with the whip it'd make gameplay more varied. Maybe an enemy that's good at dodging your shots but can be easily and instantly killed by any impact? Or one that hangs out far enough away that it's normally hard to hit them?

It might be hard to design these types of enemy in a way that they don't become annoying/tedious though.

If enemies were at least paralyzed and unable to attack while grabbed that'd be a big improvement. If this is already the case, sorry, bad memory.

I'd say that you can actually destroy enemies at least as quickly with the volton, often quicker, since you can much more easily grab two enemies than you can shoot two enemies, and if you get enough momentum when you swing them into the platform, you can kill red drones with one hit. And voltons are easier to aim than pretty much every other weapon. Also, droids can attack when you grab them, but once you start swinging them around they almost completely lose the ability to aim properly at you. Finally, you lose your shield, but you can block with the volton itself. Maybe not as effectively, but it has the added bonus of sending bolts right back at the enemy, which will kill them if they're clustered together or staying still for long enough, or if you've managed to grab them at the right moment with your second volton.

I go double whips, it's what i use for those really far away, where
i grab a droid with both of them whips', and form a =
The droid get's pulled into both of 'em over and over and eventually dies.
At times i just grab and point downwards, pinning them down below my legs where i can satisfy my sadistic needs.

I'm trying shotgun in main hand voltron in off hand. I reel the robots in for point blank shots and defend against shots with the voltron. I'm not good at it but it's fun so far.

When I'm using voltron in main and shield in off I usually first whip the bots up to bring them closer then slam them in the ground. Then I bring them close to my legs to smash them with the voltron itself.

So far im to 26250 with shield and volton. When you pull down one thats too close, reverse the swing of your arm (bowling style) when hes close and hit him with the volt. Also when they get close you can pulse your shield on them to finish the kill. Do not let go of them when they are behind you, if they get past just toss them forward and let go
