2022... Is there now a way to get rid of the ghost?

Genuine question.

Its why I Stopped playing the 1st one, and have not bought the 2nd.

I realise its a "mechanic" to push (speed-up) players who enjoy that game-play style, I understand that, and am happy for them.

This is just about (The Option) of not having to speed through rooms, and enjoy playing games like this, at my own / our pace.

Is there natively, /or a mod / or hack to remove the ghost form the game now?

Any none trolling, helpful answers, be they these is, or isn't.
Very much Appreciated.

PS. People who are just going to comment..

Or that old tired chestnut.. "git gud" etc.

You can do this through Modlunky[github.com]. Once in game, go back to Modlunky and its Overlunky tab and launch that. Then, in game, go to the Options tab of Overlunky and check the Disable Ghost Timer box.
Here's a screenshot of the options menu I am referring to.[cdn.discordapp.com]
If you still want the game to save stuff like journal entries and shortcuts etc, make sure to also uncheck the Block Save Game option.

Just tested it, and it works as intended, and breaking the ghost jar still spawns the ghost.

Yes, I meant the "Block game saves" option; I intentionally included that when showing the ghost timer option in the screenshot and still got the name wrong Hope you enjoy Spelunky 2 and getting to explore at your own speed; gotta love modding! It's a great game that is definitely worth your time if you enjoy roguelikes.
