Have you tried pressing the search button? Isn’t there one? That way you can pair up with others, but you won’t know who they are as they are other people on the internet.

I don't find players in in-game match-making anymore either. I think you pretty much need to have friends that play or go to a discord or something. Anyway, feel free to add me if you want to play.

Online with randoms isn't as active as it used to be. If you can't find anyone, it could also be because no one is active in your particular area. I suggest connecting with people through discord or in the Spelunky 2 discord server. You can also try adding people who are having the same problem as you by looking through the steam discussions.

problem is, for the people who don't have mics (like me)

I usually only play with randoms online and I have noticed on PC there are far less people active in the search menu than on the PS4. PS4 usually has a very healthy number of active players and at certain times of the day I can find someone to play with almost instantly (although you do start to see a lot of familiar usernames popping up).

I'm not sure whats going on with cross-play at the moment, I know it was promised a while ago but haven't heard much about it since. I'm guessing once its complete PC players will match much quicker if my theory stands that the PS4 community is more active in playing with randoms.
