help on low score run?

I recently completed my high score run, and now i want to try out a low score run. any pointers?

Congrats! Tips? Whip gold! EVERYWHERE! Whip while going through quillback since he unearths gold! Skip olmec using the steps in this video

also go Volcana and better get comfortable with The temple of anubis, It's easier to avoid gold there.
Skip the Yeti Palace, Using a cape, jetpack, Hoverpack, vlad's cape, or whatever that can save your fall.
At neo babylon... Hope to god that some random explosions won't happen that throw gold into you offscreen
Cook a bomb to kill the bottom right/left Guard to get his shotgun in 6-3.
Go to the platform at Tiamat's throne. Bomb it and get away, under the water is a good place.
If it had no gold/It exploded, Jump throw a rope at the right and Fire your shotgun like crazy at tiamat's head. Now go under the water instead of just walking through under tiamat's throne, Because there might be some gold there
And your done! It's way easier in Spelunky 2 than Spelunky HD

Thanks for the help. Also that Olmec skip is excellent, I’m so sick of fighting that guy! Are there any specific reasons to go temple over tide pool? Is it because of the coral hiding gold? (Also I got killed by a bear trap that was behind coral one time. Funny, but upsetting)

Try to find the clearest path on olmec 1st phase and on second phase just don't let him drop a SINGLE BOMB. Push the block on the right or if you have something that lets you jump higher... just jump back and forward while whipping in the air to destroy the hoverpads. Using the skip, you don't need to fight his 3rd phase *also it's EXTREMELY risky because Undentified Flying Objects can explode and launch out gold*

For me, besides all said... I'd recommend to get spectacles or Udjat eye so when you really need to bomb you can avoid gems.

About Olmec, well, you can skip it to get ankh, but since the main issue is gold the less explosions the better. You can use bombs to get down, or carefully find some spot without gold to make Olmec dig. For my no gold run I bombed the right corner like in any% and avoided all the gold. That can easily be done with a cape, jetpack or hoverpack.

About Tide Pool vs Temple... basically the only issues of Tide Pool are gold behind corals and tiki traps pushing gold onto you. Temple has not those issues, but every non-issue in Tide Pool becomes an issue in the temple. Tide Pool is one of the easiest worlds while the Temple is one of the hardest. You don't need to worry too much about gold in the temple but Tide Pool is so easy that you can focus almost exclusively on avoiding gold. If you get a powerpack you can even drop it into the lava to go to Abzu and trivialize 4-4. So I personally still prefer Tide Pool for this. But I mean, I always go to tide pool, because clone gun, because of Ankh skip, because Tusk, so I'm very used to it.

Also, the more you spend on a level the higher chances are to get some gold, so if you get a teleporter you can use it. If you get a jetpack you can use it. You don't have to feel like you have to rush. It's more like... if you feel like you CAN rush without killing the run, do it. And if you can beat a level in less than 30 seconds without getting gold... go ahead, because dark levels are a pain to deal with.

Yeah i would reccomend to get under the ladder while attempting to do olmec skip so the gold doesn't fly everywhere

Also I forgot. Be extra careful about explosions since gold flies very far. Normally you get away from the explosion to avoid rocks and stuff falling on you, but you must go even further if you want to avoid gold falling on you.

no gold is the hardest achievement you can get in spelunky 2. (Not the hardest thing to do in spelunky 2, but hardest achievement)

Start with Speedlunky to learn how to beat levels fast. then learn how to do that without picking up gold.

dont risk picking up gold/gems ever. even if theres a jetpack. you only need to beat tiamat. (You can get a shotgun from the bodyguard near exit to tiamat.)

I did get speedlunky, but on no gold runs shouldn’t I be going slow and steady?
