Should Sunken City have a shortcut? nvm

I wanna know what other people think

Every boss has a shortcut attached, like Olmec with the 3-1 shortcut and Tiamat with 5-1 shorcut. Sunken City has Hundun. Although Sunken City is technically a special area, it has several levels, unlike special areas like the Mothership and Eggplant World. It is also pretty annoying to get to, and I don't think anybody wants to go through the process of getting to Sunken City over and over again, just to fail at killing Hundun.

Hell in Spelunky 1 did't have a shortcut either.

There should also be a button on the title screen. Once you press it it says "you are winner".

in all seriousness a shortcut to the Sunken City would defeat the whole purpose of the hard ending

I don't think it should have a shortcut but I do think they should alter the choosing the correct idol portion of the run. It's kind of just tedious, like the Olmec fight before the update. It's an awesome idea, just something small like making the idol room a tad bit smaller would be cool.

A shortcut would ruin the purpose, but there should be a way to practice it without having to be there. Maybe a training stage where you can pick what levels you want to do, so you can practice fighting frogs, larvae, bone blocks, etc. and not have to do everything only do die via poison arrow trap

There's probably a seed out there somewhere with a late jetpack and climbing gloves so you could practice starting at the ice caves and get to the sunken city qilin-less.

Hard ending is supposed to be hard to reach. Deal with it.

Shortcuts to Sunken City wouldn't make it hard. Having shortcuts EVERYWHERE would make the game too easy.

The Sunken City feels like a breather world (besides the final boss) after everything you've gone through. The first three levels of it seems easier than Volcania or the Jungle (and definitely more so than Neo Babylon or the Temple of Anubis).

It thus doesn't seem necessary to have a shortcut to this secret area.

That said having a practice chamber for killing Hun Dun under different condition (after defeating him once or twice) could be cool though.

You can't use shortcuts on seeds.

Not that I want them, I'm just curious how adding a shortcut would make a game easier?
Their purpose is to ease the practice, not to start a run from there. No one takes a legit run from the beginning from you.

Also probably would not happen, cause all shortcuts are dug tunnels, and sunken city is somewhere upwards :)

Just use cheat engine to grant yourself godmode and get to the sunken city fast, then turn it off and proceed with whatever you wanted to do.

Shortcuts are the same exact cheats, except official and more comfy. There's no difference otherwise.
