when I dont select "Playstation Config Support" the game shows the correct button icons but won't register them, when I do select it, the game works fine but shows what I think are the Xbox buttons, is there a way to configure it in such a way that I can play with the Playstation Icons?

I also have this issue. I know spelunky 2 has playstation button icons, because they sometimes appear in the first second after starting the game. But then they immediately switch to xbox buttons and stay that way.

Would be great with a fix for this

You also got xbox unticked (and all others).... aka no Steam controller emulation of any kind, just native to the game?

There's an option to force button icons now, options > hud and text > button icons.
