Tips for making it to sunken city?
I've tried several times getting to Tiamat with the Dragon (don't remember what it's actually called) to take the route up to Sunken City, but can't seem to get the timing right and the Dragon gets hit by one of the beams and then...you can probably guess....

Anyone that can provide tips to get past the beams? I've tried watching YouTube videos, and those haven't helped so far either...

I found it easier to get right when I only waited momentarily between each laser and did each one in a single cycle. The space between them is fairly tight so it's easy to mess up if you try to do a holding pattern, and it's surprisingly easy to lose your sense of how close the next laser is.

I had the same problem. The biggest help for me was starting as close to the first laser as possible, and following a pattern. Once each laser turns off I do four quick jumps, with a brief pause while I wait for the next laser. I hope that helps!

The main issue is you're not going to have a lot of chances to practice. Similar to platforming, anticipation is the key. The way these lasers are timed you're going to fly at full speed towards a laser, then drop for a moment, then accelerate again (without dropping as low as a lower laser). If your anticipation is good enough you can get through without too much issue. But here's an idea for practice:

-Count the number of blocks between lasers (through a video, so you don't have to fail).
-In the large open space in Tiamat, try to practice floating up by that amount and dropping a bit to maintain timing.
-The ghost won't show up in a boss, so practice as much as you need.

Can't understate this enough, you have to begin accelerating up again BEFORE the lasers have cut off, so that you're in position when they're off. It's a very brief delay. Just fly RIGHT below the next laser while it's still active, then drop for like .75 seconds (so you stay above the laser below it), then full accelerate up again. You have to be proactive.

Thanks for the tips, guys! I did make it, and @ EvilChicken, that is very true. I kept that in mind and I was able to get up there! Unfortunately, the drill had gone through a shop earlier and I was killed by a shopkeeper :P

I personally mash the jump button instead of keeping it pressed. it makes you go up slightly slower and the timing seems to line up with the lasers quite well (as long as you get through the first one).
