Friendo, I was born in 84, and I didn't play the originals because I didn't care for them even back when there were released. The awkward fixed camera alone was something I had no patience for.
Had to wait until the remakes came around and made something decent of them finally enjoy these games. Shame they didn't do the same for RE1.
You call it being spoiled, I call it having standards.
Also, hate to break it to you, but I really couldn't care less that you somehow feel offended that someone doesn't like a game that you love, nor about your pathetic attempt to insult me as if the opinion of someone who clearly isn't capable of a rational thought (like for instance, a textbook fanboy) even means anything to me.
Heeeh, I wrote this post but anticipated that I wasn't gonna get a decent answer from the cesspool that is the Steam forums, especially this long after release, when all you can find on a forum are the hardcore fanboys (and thanks for proving me right), so I just checked out a walkthtough to see if it got less 'Outlast-y' past the point I reached, and clearly yes, it's basically just that, running and hiding from a hillbilly family that experiments on folks.
*Sometimes* they throw a regular monster to shoot at for good measures, but that's clearly not the game I wanted to play.
Guess I'll just check out if I can play the "Not a Hero" DLC without having to finish the main campaign and uninstall if not.
You get guns, have inventory management, solve puzzles, get keys, has Mr. X/Nemesis type roamers, etc. so it has quite a bit in common with the old RE games and remakes and little to do with Outlast. Judging by your comments though you just don't want to understand and are just digging in your heels defending your initial flawed conclusion you drew based solely on a casual glance at the game and saw video camera and first person horror.
