a very scared Noob asking question (bit backstory included cuz i need to vent)
TLDR : is it worth wasting bullets to fight baker Dad ? can u damage him with body shots ? can the normal enemies (the black goo thingies) respawn ?

*story starts*
hello there
im not exactly new to RE games
its just i play the "wrong" kind of REs

my first RE is RE5, played it coop with a very close friend on PS3
then RE6 comes out , enjoyed it as well, played it twice even, coop on PS, and solo on PC
also played revelations, 1 and 2, great stuff

AND THEN RE7 COMES OUT
i think, ho boi, here comes another zombie shootie bang bang
aaaaand its in FPS only super horror mode
i watch the trailer, watch some streamer play the first 30 min, and i close it
cant take the horror and jumpscares

years passed (obviously not)...
RE2 and 3 Remake announced and released
OH ITS IN 3RD PERSON AGAIN
i think i can take it
its just a bit harder since im accustomed to the more action-y RE6
still cleared it

then... Capcom announced RE8
with a holy-smokes-its-a-big-goth-mommy-milkers
*story ends*

now since i really want to try RE8 for "reasons"
i have to brave RE7, heard its a continued story, same protagonist
currently braving it by blaring cute giggling Vtuber clips (bless u Ayame) at max volume to accompany me through the horrors

*now the questions :
i just cleared the garage, with baker dad boss fight
and then i encounter the dude again, shot him again, and he fell to the ground
and then he came back again
this is when i realize, oh this might be the Mr.X thing in RE2remake
diffrence is, i know X cant be killed, just stunned, since he fell on one knee
Baker dad requires less bullet and his animation makes me think its "kill-able"
and thats my mistake

so, should i make a new game? since i wasted so many boolets trying to fight the unkillable. currently struggling with a fkin knife only
is this gonna happen the entire game ? is it even worth fighting him ?
can u even damage him with body shots ? i once emptied and 10 round clip and nothing happens. also the gooey normal "zombie" enemies, can they respawn too like baker dad ?

Yeah, don't waste your bullets on Jack, it's useless. Even in the garage, you don't need to shoot him. And no, the "black gooey thingies" don't respawn if you put them down. But more will appear after certain key points in the game, so save your ammo ;)

I like your "reasons". :) I'll try to help without spoiling too much:
Unless Jack locks you in a room for a 1-1 fight, don't waste ammo on him. Headshot if you must to knock him back, and run in the opposite direction. (Quickturn helps.) He's just like Mr. X/Nemesis from the remakes.

The "black gooey thingies" aka The Molded are down for the count. However, they respawn later, based on your progression in the game. Thumb rule: if the enemies don't go down after a good shotgun shell to the head, just run the other way. You may already know this, but reload from checkpoint, if you wasted too much ammo.

Im on the same boat as you, for some identical reasons why i want to play it. I started the game, entered the house, heard some creepy noise and just noped the ♥♥♥♥ out.
Maybe i should play it with the sun shining outside, cheers.

You know it.. He is like Mr. X and can't be killed.
No, he won't be following you the entire game.

Not sure if you need to restart. The game will shower you with bullets. This game has less things to shoot than any other RE game... and yet you will find an unreasonable amount of ammo throughout. Even if you wasted bullets on him, you probably can still make it.

But then again.. you are still at the beginning... so if you feel like restarting.. why not? It's not a long game anyway.

The molded can be killed for good and you should kill them. They don't exactly respawn.. but new ones may appear where there were none in different places as you play through the game.

Stop exaggerating, mate :)
It's not like that, unless maybe you play on easy.

I'm not exaggerating. I've played twice in Normal.. and I'm almost finishing Madhouse. Never touched easy. Madhouse doesn't really feel any harder than Normal, only different.
And yes, you have enough ammo to kill everything and will still finish the game with hundreds of bullets to spare.

The best possible outcome you can hope for by shooting Jack Baker, outside of boss fights, is slowing him down. So unless you absolutely need those few extra seconds to get away from him, it's best to just save your bullets.

Roaming Jack uses the exact same mechanic as the Tyrant in RE2. 1500 HP, headshots do more damage, depleting the health will disable his AI for exactly 30 seconds, then gets back up at full health. He also can track you for one room, will completely lose your trail if you get three rooms away and return to his idle patrol state, and instantly drops any aggro and tracking if you enter a safe room.

Just finished Madhouse 2 nights ago and on my last save before the final skirmish I had 127 handgun bullets, 47 Shotgun shells and 10 gunpowder that I used to make enhanced handgun bullets.
Other than that I had well over 200 Machine gun bullets, a few hundreds flamethrower ammo and a couple of flame grenade. Well over 10 chem fluids and 3 or 4 enhanced chem fluid. A few bottles of first aid and super first aid and well over 10 herbs.

That's on Madhouse and I killed pretty much every enemy up to that point. Except some few enemies not worth bothering with.
