( SPOILER ) Should I get the Magnum early ??

As title said, I've already found 6 coins total. Only need 3 more coins.
I was wondering should I unlock the Magnum early ??
( Is it a Magnum or Desert Eagle I'm not too sure, but it's a .44 I'm guessing a magnum ? )
I did save game before I unlock one of the upgrade, the Stabilizer is kinda stupid, for faster reload..I feel that's kinda pointless....

I was wondering should I just go for the Magnum first, I worry that ammo won't be a thing till much later in game...

Not worth it. There are very few cartridges for this weapon, they are difficult to find. For ordinary enemies, the power of this weapon is excessive. Open it before going to the Salt Mines.

Tks for the info. As expected of a RE game I guess lol.
I guess I will take the HP boost first instead..

I completed the game on Normal without it, I'd say it's completely skippable and there are very few bullets for it. Only get it last if you have the coins, there's nothing in the game that necessitates it. Take the steroids first for sure, even stabilisers are more useful for certain weapons. Have fun!

Actually I did notice this game seems to be less emphasis on using weapons, I mean I just killed Jack ( his first stage ) and I just realized, hey I didn't have to bring both my Shotgun and Pistol and all my ammo, because I was able to do it without even firing a bullet lol....

Though the previous RE games Magnum isn't like a vital weap either I guess, it just make things easier due to it's massive damage. You won't have to take forever to kill something with other weapons lol.

The magnum helped make the jack fight less of a hassle on madhouse if you collect the antique coins. I probably could've avoided it If I knew how to conserve ammo better with the circular saw (only used it to deal with a few crawlers and one or two regular molded)

It has one magazine worth of ammo. In the entire game. And a bunch of it is hidden in the most obnoxious ways, so you cannot even find them with the X-ray glasses or meds.
It is only worth it once you unlock infinite ammo. Then, it can be your sole weapon, because it has the highest dps.

Lol I ended up not even able to get it. Now I'm playing as Mia already...and I've defeated Jack ( hopefully and finally ).
I think the Magnum is completely useless to me at this point, I wonder will I even still able to get it.

You can. There are coins on the ship because you will see the coin store once more before the coins really stop appearing.

I actually ended the game without unlocking the Magnum lol..I guess I didn't need it.

It is more of a New Game+ weapon. Once you have unlimited ammo unlocked, you will have very few reasons not to use only the magnum the entire game.

Magnum isn't rly needed, your basic arsenal is usually more than enough. I recommend it for the mine section in madhouse mode, but that's also because you get so many extra coins. Generally early game you'd want to get the Key early, stabilizer, assault coin, then spend the rest on whatever you want. Like having the magnum to 2 shot the fat moldeds

I'd say you'll be able to get the most out of the Magnum in the Nightmare DLC where you can buy the thing and ammo for it, as well as upgrade it.
