Save data gone

I reinstalled the game and my old save data is gone. I had over 50 hours in multiple modes with some challenges done, a fully compledted 21 and I was gonna finish my coin-collecting run which I abandoned some months ago before uninstalling. Is there any way to fix this or am I screwed and have to work my way through the pain again?

Is it really gone? Check the files under:
.\steam\userdata\<steamID>\418370\remote\win64_save\

If you see many .BIN files there, then the saves are still existing. A possible explanation for them not showing up inside the game is that you have changed your Windows region since the last time you played the game.

Checking under .\steam\userdata\<steamID>\418370\remote\win64_save\ was one of the first things I did. No sign of old data. Oh well, I played the game some and got at least part of my progress back. Now I regularly make backups.

Try to see if it is only a Steam mess-up or not. Disable Cloud saves, start the game, then quit and re-enable Cloud.
If it is still not there, then Steam yet again murdered a game's save files. It happens all the time, just only with a few people and a few games.

Sorry guys, I just gave up and played through the game to get my progress back. I'm making backups regularly now. Seems you can't rely on Steam Cloud too much.

so i had the same issue, pop up with keywords such as “no save data found” and whatnot but then i checked my load game, and it had a save in there 3 and a half hours in, basically right before my last save, maybe that’s the solution?
