change from DX11
I don't have DX11 so it fails to start.
Is there anyway to change DX version before launch?
I found a config file in the install which states DX11, but when I try changing it the game still tries to launch DX11 and the config goes back to DX11

How can you not have DX11? It is pre-installed on all Windows PCs.

DX11 support was added in the GTX 400 and the RadeOn 5000 series in 2010. If your GPU is older than these or it is an ancient Intel integrated one, then you wouldn't be able to run this game at an acceptable frame rate in the first place.

At any rate, there is a re7_config.ini in the game folder, try switching there. Although AFAIK, this game is DX11 only.

yes it is an intergrated card, and I use geforce now to play it normally, but I want to launch on my computer to use cheat engine to cheat my nightmare points because I dont want to grind 10 million points in it.

And as I stated in the OP I tried changing the config but it still launches in DX11 and changes the config file back to DX11

Yep, as I guessed, it is most likely DX11 only. The RE2 Remake similarly only offers DX11 and DX12 modes.

or you could do the right thing and buy a dedicated gpu with DX11 support.. Problem solved. im sure you can pick one up mad cheap as it is since your not going for anything fancy price wise.

Can you even enjoy the game running at 20 fps 360p though?
