So I saw on re.net highscores people getting millions of scrap. How the hell is that even possible? Is it a total scrap of all the game or what? Rank one has 1,8B points

I suppose there's no limit.
If you want rank one, you'll need to play a lot. there's no way around it.

My highest score in nightmate normal mode is 550k points. I play with just knife for 90% of the time and sometimes Albert. The problem is, how the hell do people get that many points? Bug abuse?

To my knowledge, that it total accumulated scrap there. The top scores are almost surely cheated since most users have very low logged hours and most DLCs show low play completion stats. The are most likely using the trainer that gives you tens of millions of scraps to instantly unlock the in-game records. It also explains why all of their score is a perfect round 1000, even though the game mode does not work like that.

The first actually legit score seems to be in the 2-million range. To my knowledge, the only few Nightmare score grinders only existed on PS4, not on Steam. Steam players, like most anyone who started to play that mode seriously, do it on Night Terror, since you get a lot more scrap there. The 40-million range on the leaderboard seems to be legit there.

Night Terror gets you half the scrap from Nightmare. The score is X3 though. The best farming to get infinite ammo is to go do Nightmare and focus 90% on melee and leave for crawlers and Jack 2nd fight the gun ammo. Jack first fight seems to have a weakness for knife and faster kill than normal weapons
