-Play on Easy/Normal.
-Run past enemies whenever you can.
-Try to get things done quickly and don't go to places you don't need to.
-Save when you're near a typewriter, but don't actively backtrack just to save.
-Never continue or reload from checkpoint when you die because that will add to your playtime. Allways quit to main menu and manually reload your save so the clock reverts to that state.
Play through sections. You don't need to be Flash to beat the game in less than 4 hours, and you don't need to do it in one sit. I never liked speedruns, and I still had no trouble getting through this run, I mean, 4 hours for this game isn't even speedrun. As long as you're somewhere between 2:30 and 3:00 hs by the time you reach the ship you should be fine.
