difference between guns?
So I have been playing the game for awhile now and I dont see a difference between guns types, I when it comes to the handguns they all take the same amount of shots/head shots to kill modled, the shotguns both kill molded with head shots with one shot and the magnum is only about as powerful as the handguns using enhanced hangun ammo.
that beinf said what is the difference between them aside from the much lower ammo count? this quest goes for the alber wesker gun with 3 rounds as well

I haven't gone too deep into it, but I did feel a noticeable damage difference between normal ammo glock and enhanced ammo 1911.

with the same type of ammo the difference IS there, but negligible.

haven't tried the magnum.

with shotties from what I understand the hunting one has longer barrels, and as such - better range and lesser spread, meaning you're more likely to hit with all pellets. but I just prefer its esthetics.

I don't get the hate some people have for the magnum. Limited ammo aside it's far better than all the other handguns in every way. Once you have infinite ammo it doesn't even have that as a downside.

It has a 7 round mag vs Albert's 3. It has a slower rate of fire than the m19 with enhanced ammo but a higher dps (tested on the barn fight vs 2 fat molded). They both reload the same. It deals more damage than the Albert with enhanced ammo. On Madhouse I can one-shot bladed moldeds and two-shot fat molded with it. With 1 mag I can kill 3-7 molded before reloading which I can't say about any other gun.

With enhanced ammo none of the other pistols come close imo. I don't know the differences between but assume the Albert & M19 come after. I don't know how the MGM and G17 compare. The machine gun sucks but so does normal handgun ammo. Remote bombs and the sawblade are great, I've killed a fat molded with 2 remote bombs and even if they just remove the legs it's all done.

ok so I found the differnces in ammo guns, while vs most normal enemies the shotgun does not make a differnce, but when it comes to handguns and normal ammo that make a huge differnce, with normal ammo the glock deals the least damage, the m1 (7 shot gun) deals the second most and the mpm (8 shot) deals the most damage, if you are using enchanced there is a small differnce in damage, so small you can barely notice it BUT when using the 3 shot Albert gun it puts the others to shame, using both the normal and enhanced ammo it deals WAY more damage... also magnum is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, ammo is rare and it deals about the same amount of damage as a mpm (taking 8-10 shots to the head to kill a fat one) were the albert takes 6 shots (with enchanced ammo) to kill a fat one

They do different damage, but the enemy health pool is generally high with headshots having a natural multiplier. Also, damage is not completely fixed, every enemy type takes different amount of damage from the same gun, on top of having different HP values to begin with.

The handguns differ in damage, but compared to the Albert, they all feel weak.

The two shotguns mostly differ in spread and ammo capacity. The starting shotgun spreads in a much wider area and it means it loses a lot of damage if you are more than 2-3 meters away. The other one has two shots, but it is much tighter and you can headshot/kill molded from 5-8 meters even.

the guns do have fixed damage values, when tested on normal molded. big arm molded, small molded and fat molded you can see the enemy HP vaule and damage vaules just by counting shots, while enhanced hangun ammo always deals a massive amount of damage this is best seen with the normal handguns vs the wesker gun, were most other guns need 2 shots to kill a molded or a big molded the wesker only needs one. also the magnum, 100% trash, it takes two shots to kill normal molded and big arm molded on madhouse comepared to the albert only needing ONE (oddly enough the gun the magnum is based on in real life is also considered trash, with problems with barrel warping and too many malfuntions to count, more often than not it just blows up in your face, that's why you dont see it alot in other games)

The double barrel shotgun also allows you to fire off both shots instantly, instead of waiting betwen shots.

I swear you are getting the magnum and Albert mixed up somehow, the magnum one shots even bladed molded. Are you talking about shots to the body?

I can load up one of my saves on Madhouse right now since I have infinite ammo unlocked and it's obvious which one deals more damage.

This is what I got from a quick test on Madhouse:

44 MAG, 7 mag, 10-20% hip accuracy, 100% aimed accuracy, massive knockback, high mutilation, 1 shot to head at extreme range.

Albert-01R(enh), 3 mag, 95% hip accuracy, 100% aimed accuracy, 0-low knockback, 0-low mutilation, 1-4 shots to head, range/luck dependent.

Albert-01R(std), 3 mag, 95% hip accuracy, 100% aimed accuracy, 0-low knockback, 0-low mutilation, 3-5 shots to head, range/luck dependent.

They all have the same fire rate and reload rate, which is average. So the 44 MAG is clearly better if you aim, and even if you hit the body, they go flying away from you, whereas if you hit the body/head with Albert and it survives the molded barely registers it got hit. I was surprised that you can 3-shot with standard ammo on Madhouse.

My guess is that you are doing hipshots with the magnum and so not actually getting head shots because on Madhouse it 1 shots even bladed molded for me. Note that the accuracy bonus from aiming is instant, you always get the accuracy boost if you are holding down RMB even if you just fired and the reticule is maxed out.

your data is super wrong, the albert with enchanced ammo kills with a single hit to the head, note that you have to shoot THE VERY TOP of the head otherwise it is considered a body shot

It's not wrong, I literally just did all that. You said it takes 2 magnum shots to the head to kill molded, when it only takes one. Anywhere in the head also counts as a headshot, they have a separate model for a bloodied head when their head takes damage.

You don't even own the game, I've unlocked every achievement, got SS on Jack's 55th and completed all Extreme+ on Joe Must Die.

yeah I do own the game, I own it TWICE, on my PS4 and on my steam, also no one cares about achievements and if you do, shame on you
David Jul 4, 2018 @ 9:28pm
If you owned it you would know that magnum 1 shots to the head.
ProxyJames Jul 4, 2018 @ 9:40pm
on mad house it takes two shots to the head unless your are at the very start of the game, for the rest of the game it takes 2, I know becasue I got super hyped because I got the inf ammo and was like YEAH MAGNUM ALL THE WAY....oh wait it sucks balls when you compare it to the albert with enhanced ammo. maybe if you weren't too busy hunting lame achievements and playing on easy mode you would have noticed that
David Jul 4, 2018 @ 9:49pm
I have a madhouse save at the start of the swamp which is the last area you fight molded in the game and all the molded up to the fat molded go down in 1 shot.

Oh no I totally must have achievement whored all of the achievements on easy, even the madhouse/professional/joe must dies, oh god you are right. I'm such a ♥♥♥♥♥.

I was checking their actual numerical health value in Cheat Engine and was testing damage with a variety of guns. Unlike most players, I did not want to test it in the game counting shots and stating "well, they kinda-sorta feel different-ish, I guess". For example, starting handgun has a 120 damage/shot value by default, but crawlers take 150-160 damage to their body. Mia takes triple damage from this gun to the head (this is why you can even finish her on Madhouse, despite the plus ammo, otherwise she has 6000 HP) but crawlers seem to take five times. Enhanced ammo is not a damage multiplier but has its own range of damage depending on pistol, but mostly staying in the +100% territory.
