Why do the molded don't have consistant health?
I'm in the boiler room and I tried pistol & knife both are not consistant in the number of hits.
Some molded die with 3 pistol shots & 5 knife head attacks while other take 6 pistol shots and I haven't survived the number of knife hits yet but they survive with more than 7 hits to the head. Problem is sometimes they melt before I kill them so they spawn again.

Weapon
Least hits
Most hits
Pistol
3
4
Knife
4
3

From one of the papers lying around:

"Proximity to a target increases the damage done" (rough estimation by memory)

Also most RE games in the past had some form of RNG with damage dealt. It's to make things less methodical and more "oh ♥♥♥♥ it's still there, better reload"

Yea maybe there is because when I went to get the dissection room key from the incinerator Room that specific molded survived 11 knife attacks to the head. I got bored and just killed myself then my second attempt was to simply close the door and wait for it to melt. Good thing the molded didn't spawn again in that room.

Ganados from RE4 didn't had consistant health either

Good thing that I was able to seperate most molded in boiler room to kill them with a knife to not waste any bullets only 2 left & they won't seperate I guess I have to use the pistol, I won't waste shotgun bullets cause I guess these shells are for jack.

Yup. Even regular zombies in re2 didn't have consistent health. None in the series have so far i think.

This is correct. Some zombies could even tank a shotgun hit from close range

Yea I haven't played RE4 since the gamecube but I remember that in that game I can at least have headshots accuratly with the laser pointer from a fair distance to run away. In this game getting headshots and running away from attacks isn't safe. Knifing is safer than using a pistol for me. Till now I haven't figured out a good strategy to kill 2 molded at the same time. My only method is to let 1 melt & I kill 1 of them with a knife. Simply attack 3 times run back rinse & repeat.

I agree, landing headshots on the molded do need some skill in this game. Specially because of the molded's movement and the aim system. But i like it personally. It makes me think before shooting. That is what i want in a RE game.
i find it difficult loading health why they there and in my way .,..that and reloading.

or you trying to crouch you panis and hit CTRL instead of C and bam there goes your health potion ♥♥♥♥.

Ive noticed that you can stab them but effectively headshots work best about 3 or so.

this game isnt easy to aim at all though and lack of ammo doesnt help but it is a survival after all so i accept that

I was wondering something since people are talking about it. I can mostly take them out in melee, but sometimes after they finish an attack, when I go in they'll instantly go back up and do a instant attack. Tends not to do much damage, but is there a tell or anything to this, since I havn't noticed one for it.

They telegraph all their attacks if you pay close attention. It's just the crazy movement animation for the thing that can make you miss it.

It is easy to predict their movement just stab their face 3 times then quickly move away. Though don't go too far because if you go far they rush attack which does more damage I also hit them near a door corner because it is easy to avoid their attacks. I like the game difficulty just surprised about the difficulty when you have 2 molded at the same time I can't kill 2 at once with pistol or knife. Wonder if soon I will be in a position where I can't seperate the molded and I'm forced to think of a strategy to kill them with a safe distance.

Remap duck to both c and ctrl. I put my health on H.
thats a good idea

you can just circle them up close and knife their heads they never hit me
General Plastro Jan 26, 2017 @ 8:36am
One armed mudmen have had consistently more health than two armed ones for me.

While kinda counter intuitive, i managed to kill the 2 armed ones with 3 headshots, thats not true for all the one armed ones so far.
