Phenom CPU Users, Request Your Refunds Now
Additional Notes: Hardware specification target 1080P/30FPS. May require reduction in Texture Quality settings or turning Texture streaming to OFF due to high VRAM requirements. *Internet connection required for game activation. The game is still undergoing development, so all PC requirements are subject to change.

This "subject to change" was clear when they patched the demo Beginning Hour to accommodate Phenom CPUs and the equivalents. Leading many of us to believe they would apply this same patch to the main game, otherwise why would they want us to play a demo to a game that would not function properly for us? But it's no sweat off my back, I already got a full refund and will purchase again if they decide to patch it.

Also, I ran the demo and the main game (before the crash) with zero stutters or lag on nearly maxed settings, so the argument that the Phenom CPUs are simply unable to operate these games is laughable. But yes, I plan on upgrading to something like the Ryzen fairly soon.

Here is a guide to explain how you can refund your game. I got my full refund within an hour of requesting it.

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=6695-QIKM-7966

Hopefully the growing number of refunds will speed the process of Capcom addressing the issue officially.

Editor note: Apparently the point of this post has been misunderstood to be a "whine until we get what we want" post. It is nothing of the sorts. Its purpose is to raise awareness to all Phenom users that have a non-functioning game to, instead of waiting and hoping they patch it, just simply refund. Then purchase the game if a patch is released or until we upgrade our CPUs. I'm not saying Capcom has an obligation to fill in providing support for this, although it would be nice considering the demo did. Either way, I have my $59.99 back, I'm cool as a cucumber. Be easy all. No reason to be so adversarial.

Better yet learn to read system requirements if you plan to play a modern game with a dinosaur cpu.

MINIMUM:

Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-4460, 2.70GHz or AMD FX™-6300 or better

Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 760 or AMD Radeon™ R7 260x with 2GB Video RAM
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 24 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectSound compatible (must support DirectX® 9.0c or higher)
Additional Notes: Hardware specification target 1080P/30FPS. May require reduction in Texture Quality settings or turning Texture streaming to OFF due to high VRAM requirements. *Internet connection required for game activation. The game is still undergoing development, so all PC requirements are subject to change.

Then Capcom should not have updated the demo and instead made an official statement that they will not update the game for SSE. Otherwise older hardware can run the game perfectly fine on lower settings if the coding is there.

If the min spec is above what you have in your PC

1. upgrade.
2. Don't buy it

Don't post a page of crap because you refuse to believe your potato can't play something.
Carver Jan 25, 2017 @ 11:59am
But my potato can in fact play it. All Capcom has to do is release a little piece of extra coding so a lot of other Steam users can play the other 90% of the game at whatever framerate they desire.

Thats why they put out minimum requirements. If you choose to ignore them. Its your fault if you buy the game and it does not work.

Man, i do 60+ fps with no stuttering, lag, or tearing right to when it crashes in the basement.
I have a 1090t clocked at 4,2ghz and a 970. My "potato" pc can play every game out there.
I should also add that having patched the demo means that the game can run flawlessly without the requirement for SSE4.1.
This is just sloppiness.

Good idea. Request your refunds and put the money towards a cpu that isn't over 8 years old.

That really doesn't has anything to do with being able to run this game or not.

Check out that first line, IF THE MIN SPEC IS ABOVE WHAT YOU HAVE

If your PC has it then thats not directed at you, if you can't read, well I can't help you with that get a speak and spell.

Your CPU is 7 years old. It just does not support the newest instructiion sets. ..that are required for the game to work. A CPU has to do more than process data. It also has to have all the features and instructions that a game uses to work.

Intel and AMD add new features to there CPUS from to time. This basically means CPUs that do not have those features will no longer work in games that use those features.
