Madhouse steroids question

How effective are steroids on madhouse? I'm wondering if I should save the first one for when I get hurt but the 4 legged moulded keep double-hitting me and killing me in the boiler room

steroids are best used as healing. monsters nearly 1 hit you in madhouse. i always heal when i'm yellow.

steroids are 1 full heal. if u get hit then try better not to get hit. blabla of denfense and blablubb of defense block 100% damage if in your inventory when blocking.

Not gonna use bonus items, I do try to block but since theres no health regen I try to headshot crawlers and sometimes I can't block in time when they lunge
