Can't kill grandma

I came across grandma a few times in the hallway. There she was, all helpless and everything. Couldn't kill her. What's up with that?

Ethan is only trying to escape. Sweet old Grangran isn't causing trouble and she sings a nice rendition of "go tell aunt Rhodie" so Ethan doesn't want to hurt her. You get same if you try to shoot the cop with Albert at the start of a second playthrough.
