RE7 or Outlast 2

I really want to buy a 2017 horror game , I am just not sure which one is a better buy overall ...(Outlast 2 coming in two days ik)

Two completely different games.

The only similarities is the perspective, and they are both horror games. But, even the style of horror is different.
The gameplay is completely different.

Personally, I love RE7... but I'm getting Outlast II.

Sorry but RE7 vs Outlast 2 is not a really fair versus. 2 completely different games (The similarities end with it's first person perspective)

You got guns in RE7, you explore things, solve things, fight things.
While in Outlast 2 you mostly run and hide. doesn't have much to solve, explore a few things, and get jumscared on a few things. I played RE7 but I'm getting Outlast 2 as well.

RE7, hands down. It's an experience not to be missed by horror fans, and it's been out long enough that a general consensus has been reached- it's absolutely fantastic as an experience and is brilliant on many levels. Outlast 2 will NOT capture the same feelings RE7 achieves, nothing has- it's miles ahead of any other games in the genre, and you'll have to look very hard to find legitimate gripes.

Just check out any of the numerous reviews on youtube, Outlast 2 and RE 7 are completely different, Outlast 2 has no combat and you're supposed to escape/run from enemies and even then you can only run to a specific point as other ways lead to death. RE7 is more like RE1, play it on Madhouse and it's really fun, there's some entertaining boss battles, ammo is limited but even then combat is well implemented, there's some good humor at times too, very much in the tradition of previous RE games.
