She is a very talented singer. People can't help how their singing voices sound and I think she has a beautiful voice and amazing range. I mean, like in "Home" she can hit those low E's like it's nobody's business
Once again, someone commenting before reading the thread.
There's no problem with some of her Season 1 music, because that's what she's good at. The problem is that most RWBY songs are rock and she can't sing rock worth anything. She needs rock lessons. Even in the newest season, she still sucks at singing rock. I specifically suggested Lzzy Hale and Amy Lee for tips because CL can sing like them if she just...gets...lessons.
"What? Did she actually Improve?? Nope shes a supporting vocalist."
Clearly they knew they had to get someone who had more punch with their voice. Thus the new singer. Casey always sounded a bit flat to me and it bugged me heavily to the point of annoyance. Perhaps it could be due impart to how what tune the chords are set in for the instruments because her voice and the instruments always gave me the feeling of a weird 'fan' cover. I'd say once she gets some proper lessons in, she'll not sound so grating.
Exactly. And really the lessons don't need to include the genre style from Season 1. It's the rock stuff that she needs to work on. I'm not saying she's a bad singer at all, it's just that her rock vocals need work. The voice itself is an instrument, and rock instruments are meant to sound powerful and exciting, with a heavy feeling to them - which her vocals do not.
While the V5 opening is definitely better than her other rock works, it's an anomaly - other V5 music doesn't compare.
