Why does everyone hate Jaune so much??
There's no reason to hate him so much... I know he failed to his objective when Ozpin was in the middle of transferring the Fall Maiden's powers to Pyrrha, and sure he's been weak, but he's still a good character. Plus, his Semblance may have been revealed in Volume 5 when he was healing Weiss (Making his Semblance the power of healing), and plus, he ran towards Cinder in Volume 5 after Cinder taunted him with "Who are you again?", showing that he intended to kill Cinder for everything she did, and also making Jaune capable of fighting for people, and avenging people.

I don't hate it, I'm just reluctant. Or rather, yes I kinda hate the show but I really like the idea and concept of RWBY and wish it was in better hands.
That's really unfair to say when you refused to watch past the first episode. The animation is rough because it was literally just a group of friends with a ham sandwich budget and software that was never meant to be used for animation. It grows radically with every new season.
It does, doesn't really make it immune to criticism though, and again like I said, I've seen better animation from casual SFM ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Call it unfair if you want, but if one guy can make a smoother animation than a team, regardless of their experience they could do it too. My real problem is more so with the story and everything else than with the animation. That and Ruby's voice actor is ear grating but that is besides the point. Consider this an outsider's perspective. I want to like RWBY, and maybe I'll give it another shot but I don't like what I hear about it and from what little I've seen of it. If the show gets sold off to someone more competent/gets rebooted and actually treated properly I'll definitely give it a go.

I like the animation, it is kind of their style and you really see changes and growth throughout the season. But while it might look better, the fighting choreography has become worse since Monty passed away.
My main grievence is that the story isnt focused enogh and all over the place and that they still havent figured out how to tell story, emotions or states just through images instead of dialog. Things that could have been shown in a 5 second image are drawn out into minutes.
Also the show is called RWBY, so it should focus on our 4 heroines, their adventures and their growth and emotions, but for some reason, they are more interested in bringing new shallow characters aboard every season while leaving the team hanging. Especially Ruby has been mistreated and she seems to be the premier character the writers dont know what to do with.

You don't know the first ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing about handling things properly. Your perspective is completely invalid until you've at least given the show a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chance.

I did give the show a chance and I didn't quite like it, why so hostile and defensive? Are opinions not allowed anymore? I gave the show a chance and I didn't like what I saw, it was just too janky and amateurish for my standards, I'm sure later on it's better but even then is the story and anything else about it even good? I'm 100% the fanfics are more enjoyable to experience and make more sense than the actual show, and I've done my homework, I've gone to various, credible sources and it's not like I don't know a thing about RWBY. It could've been done better but it wasn't, I'd be more likely to give it a chance if it made more improvements in not just the animation department, but also story-telling in general and the characters. All I see is wasted potential, and I'm sure plenty of other people, regardless of whether or not they're RWBY fans or even watch the show from the first few episodes, to the first few seasons to pretty much every season could agree. I'm open-minded, I'm willing to give it a try but there's nothing about it that seems enticing enough for me to want to give it a try. All I hear is corporate pandering wokeness and a complete lack of care for what the true fans actually want. You're right, I'm no director or writer, what would I know about making a good story or characters? That doesn't mean I don't know a good story when I see one or don't know what a bad character is when I see one, I may not be a writer or a director but I'm not blind to this stuff. I like what they're going for and some of the characters aren't too shabby. I'm not gonna sit here and claim I could pull a better story out of my ass or come up with a god-like character, I'm just saying there's plenty of good with the show as there is bad and both I've seen and heard.

"Corporate pandering wokeness"

Then you're listening to the wrong people. You're listening to people who have a harmful agenda and are not "true fans". They're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ people misappropriating the dead creator's name to hate on a show for no reason.

The current writers sat down with the show's creator and planned out the story from start to finish. If what the "true fans want" doesn't line up with what we're getting, those "true fans" aren't very true, they've made up a vision of what they wanted that was never going to happen.

I'm getting so hostile because you say with "100% CERTAINTY" that fanfics do a better job than the show does, then admit to not watching past the first episode. That isn't giving a show a chance. That's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. You've decided what you think about the show ahead of time and now you're trying to find evidence to support that opinion.

Then tell me, is RWBY good? At any point besides the first few seasons was it good? We COULD be having a calm, meaningful discussion except... well, you're kinda coming across as a needlessly hostile RWBY stan who can't take criticism or calmly try and refute my points and prove me wrong or even acknowledge RWBY's faults. What would you call Blake x Yang happening even though they had no real chemistry and Blake would've been much better with Sun? What would you call Weiss suddenly NOT being racist in the next episode? Bad writing and lesbians for the sake of lesbians. That or Roosterteeth doesn't know how to say no to the massively vocal minority/majority that are the psychopaths that persist in most if not all fandoms. Those true fans only want to see the show improve and be better, these are the same people who've been with RWBY since season 1 and it hurts them to see their show go down the drain. I'm not even a RWBY fan nor can I relate but even I can sense the disappointment and wasted potential radiating off of this property. You wanna know the types of people I'm listening to? Hero Hei, I've seen quite a few of his videos and he goes into detail about how toxic the community is and has reviewed seasons/episodes and details what's wrong with them and of course goes into what's wrong with Roosterteeth itself, I watched that one guy who made a 1 hour video going into how, though flawed, the first few seasons weren't too terrible. They shined in the fight scenes and things got climactic and more interesting by the end of like season 3/4. Like I said, there are good things about it and bad things about it, if I watched the entirety of RWBY or at least tried the first season my opinion wouldn't change. I do not see the problem with criticizing a show, you're not spitting on a dead man's legacy by criticizing something, you're criticizing that something because you want it to improve and get better and you really can't go very far if you're not taking criticism seriously. Your definition of 'true' fans are the diehard stans who own a Ruby bodypillow and spend 24/7 sitting on reddit to, without end, defend their favorite show from any and all criticism. Can you really call yourself a fan if you can't realize the downs and ups of your favorite show and criticize it for the sake of wanting to see it improve?

Of course you're one of those people, you hate criticism so you block it out because your show is so perfect and flawless. Yeah this argument is a waste of time if your're going to label my opinion invalid just because I wasn't too big a fan of it. I bet you're also one of those gullible kickvic idiots who only believe in it because the accuser was a woman and women are never wrong even though there is literally no documented evidence of Vic ever doing anything wrong. Hero is a commentary channel, he reports on situations and guess what? Much of those situations are either Roosterteeth being incompetent or the 'fans' people like YOU being toxic and bashing others and drowning them in a sea of hate and toxicity just because you don't like how they can acknowledge any faults the show has. And guess what's most surprising? HERO IS A RWBY FAN, he's been there since the days of Red Vs Blue, he has ♥♥♥♥♥♥' posters and figurines of RWBY in the background and stuff because he's a fan of the show and I can tell watching his videos that he's hurt that RWBY is crashing so bad, he's even reported on situations where fans of the show were being attacked by the stans just because they criticized it or just hated them and he was the one to step in and take the bullet and deal with roving bands of morons and incels who initiate witch hunts and blatantly misinterpret his videos and points and spin lies in their favor. What's with you people and being so immature and spiteful that you go after others just because their opinions of your show aren't positive or even have any bit of negativity in it? So much so that you label anyone who dares bring up problems with it as haters, liars, bigots and whatever slurs you could come up with? You haven't even addressed any real criticisms with my argument, instead you singled out the Hero Hei comment 'invalidated' me just because you don't agree with his channel or his opinions. Have you even watched his channel? Do you even have any actual idea of who he is and what he actually even does? You're the ones giving him material in the first place so I don't see why you're complaining. Is it too much to ask for a real discussion without any grasping at straws or invalidation or needless toxicity and aggression? Of course it is, you're the ones who cried and whined to Roosterteeth to make Blake and Yang gay even though Blake would've been better off with Sun, though even then I don't have much faith in them to do that right since they're the ones who completely screwed up Adam and the White Fang thing... You also happen to be the ones to witch hunt an innocent artist just because she put in a submission for a badass Wendigo grimm that looked amazing and called it cultural appropriation or something even though literally most if not all of the grimm in RWBY are based off of some mythical folklore creature.

In the quote of someone who can explain things better than I, here. 'On the whole topic of covering stuff, the whole topic of reporting is objectively covering what is going on at the moment. Hei does a good job of reporting things objectively and bringing up whether what he's showing is real or not, showing that these shills don't actually watch or at least listen to his content, choosing instead to brush him off as a troll or naysayer.

And I loathe that whole, "why not spend your time talking about something you enjoy?" argument. People don't understand that half the reason why discussions like this about franchises like Doctor Who or Marvel or My Hero and yes, even RWBY, is at least the majority are or at least were fans who did enjoy these things and are disappointed with the direction they're going, the practices of their parent companies, or the drama permeating their communities. It's because we enjoy them that we choose to speak our minds and let people know, as fans, that we do not agree with these things.'

What- Did you even watch the video? He didn't tell anyone to hate on anything, he just told people to support the poor woman being harassed and witch hunted by a crazed fanbase, you can't even bring yourself to refute my other points! What does that say about you? You've pretty much proved me right by outright refusing to acknowledge any other criticism and just go after the one thing you know you can respond to, at least with blatant lies/misinformation. You really are hopeless, are you not the one getting angry here? I'm not blind to this ♥♥♥♥, I may not watch the show but I keep up with the news. I know RWBY is dying, and if this next volume fails to deliver, say bye-bye to your precious show. You don't even watch his content so you can't make ANY judgement on him, after all if YOU won't give Hero Hei a chance what gives YOU the right to criticize him and accuse him of being these things when you never watched his videos and gave him a chance? Thus your opinion is invalid and you've lost the argument, checkmate.
