Uh... guys... Ruby's hair is ruby red, not black with red tips.

I see so many cosplayers wear red tipped black whigs it makes me laugh. Either your TVs or computer monitors are so out of calibration, that you can't see the obvious, or you don't understand lighting.

When the lighting is bright, her hair is quite obviously red ... all over. It's why Torchwick called her "Red". Hint: Weiss' hair is white, Blake's hair is black, and Yang's hair is yellow. Sense the color theme here?? Ruby's hair is RED, ruby RED.

Why am I making such a stink? Well, you'd think game programmers would understand lighting and how darker scenes in the show make Ruby's hair APPEAR red tipped, but that it's lighting. Well, with these new craptastic models, they made her hair black with red tips. WRONG!! You'd think those in the art design would have consulted with the show's designers.

Before those of you so sure to the contrary start to reply. I'll begin with the first episode 4:30 where you see her weapon for ther first time. The closeup, well I'll be darned, red hair. Then 5:48 where the bright light of Torchwick's ship shines on her. Most obviously all red, ruby red. Then there's "Can I have your autograph" clear into the interrogation scene from 7:39. That's just the beginning of the first episode. There are many more instances of her hair being shown to be most definitely a deep ruby red. You'd kind of think that's why she was named "Ruby".

I don't normally tirade on boards, but when I see the models of a game get progressively WORSE instead of better, I need to speak up. Ruby used to have a proper model with properly colored hair. Now, we get a plastic doll with craptastic hair coloring. Let the light determine her hair shading, and stop catering to people with 15 year old systems. At the very least give us with nice systems the pleasure of getting our money's worth with the great models we once had via the "Ultra" menu option. This reminds me of what Ubisoft did with the Watchdogs game for PC. They nerfed the graphics so it didn't make the console versions look so bad. Well, stop nerfing these graphics for the sake of cheap computers on their walkers with tennis balls.

Rant over. Fix Ruby's hair.

You can't blame people for having their own image on what Ruby's hair color is. For one, Ruby Red is actually much lighter than what is shown i nthe show, her hair is more burgundy than anything. Her cloak is ruby red however.

Additionally, look at the figurines they produced...her hair is straight up brown. When you have something like that going on, you can't blame the viewers. RoosterTeeth is being inconsistent with her hair.

Anyways, in the show her hair IS black a lot of times. I went to the sections you stated, uploaded the images into Photoshop and use the eyedropper tool in the darker areas you'll get black to a black near the red area.

As for the model in game if you look, the hair isn't pure black. What? Kinda like the show? NOOOOOOOOO! But wait, it is! Tossing it into photoshop again and using the eyedropper tool you'll get a black very near the red color shading meaning there is a tinge of red to it.

I noticed it. If you didn't notice that OP, maybe you should check the color settings on your monitor.

In terms of how her hair actually is:

Ruby's hair probably is black dyed a dark red and that only in certain lighting would it really look red but most the time look black. The tips would appear redder more often because there is less hair there, allowing the light to shine through and show off the red color more often.

i'm not gonna argue but i just wanna say this , in rwby chibi her hair is black but with red on it

( i can't paste for some reason but if you type in rwby chibi the top part of her hair is blake but with the bangs / half of her hair/tips/ whatever part of hair you may call it is red ) even ruby's mom ( summer ) has black with red hair if you go on google and type in rwby chibi ( or ruby rose chibi ) and sumer rose you can see black hair with red tips ( or how ever you may call the ends of the hair ) soooo yea plus it matches her outfit since her outfit is black and red sooo yea ^^

but it isn't really a big deal of how the hair looks , i mean it might be a bit weird if the hair suddenly became just red , but it doesn't really matter as long as we enjoy the show :)

I'd like to add that at the ending scene of "End of the Beginning" the Volume 3 Finale, Ruby's hair is notcibly darker then earlier in the episode. Which causes one to think that silver warrior power can somehow be measured by hair coloration. But that's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy theorizing there.
