The semi auto and the level action rifles are the same caliber in this game, yet you can only use the incendiary rounds in the lever action. The game should have made the lever action a different caliber if it wasn't going to let the semi auto rifle use the incendiary rounds when both guns are the same caliber. The thinking probably was that the semi auto rifle would be to powerful shooting off incendiary rounds at a faster rate of fire, but it doesn't make sense when both guns take the same caliber bullets. In the US. the 30-30 Winchester is by far the most common lever action rifle, and what the one in the game should be imo. Don't flame me by saying it's just a game lol.

I agree with you. The frame for the lever action rifle is definitely the 30-30

It's the developers choice not to neglect either rifle in the game, a balancing thing, the semi auto is faster in loading so he gave the slower loading lever action incendiary ammo. There are many things that could be more real but that does not always work in gaming.

A scope would be great for scouting. 2x is more than enough... and more damage to hunter bases per round - seems they have no problem taking my walls for 300 damage yet takes me a ton of resources to damage theirs.

its the same with shotguns aswell only double barrel can use the slugs both shotguns are the same gauge but the pump cant use the slugs

Those who are familiar with firearms know how nonsensical it is, but maybe we need to take a step back and just go along with the game being make believe in a make believe world where anything is possible. 🙃

The only time you would need to c0ck a gun is when your magazine empties and yet that's not the case in almost every FPS title on the market. Developers strive to find a good balance between mechanics/aesthetics and realism.

I get the point you're making and I'm fine with the mechanics of the firearms and cocking a gun each time you equip it. You do have to rack a pump shotgun everytime you fire it to cycle a live round into the chamber.

but also i forgot about premium arrows/ grenade arrows with regular bow i also forgot the fishing pole after you craft the fishing tackle you should just have to have a grub to reload the fishing hook not craft a whole new hook cause its its empty

The game doesn't state the poundage of the bows but it does say the recurve bow is a more powerful bow which implies it is of a higher poundage than the hunting bow. I haven't tested to see if shooting a premium arrow from the hunting bow does less damage then shooting it from the recurve bow but I assume it will do more damage from the recurve bow, I have no issues with the bows. I don't fish enough to comment on fishing.
PS. You don't actually shoot an arrow from a bow, you (Release it)

Its's even stranger that an explosive item like a claymore or grenade in subsistence is somewhat weaker than a premium arrow.Claymores,grenades and even grenade tipped arrows should kill on impact.Have witnessed that even radial damage with a grenade on hunters only does some damage but no actual kill.

The regular bow can shoot premium and grenade tipped arrows. They do less damage than being shot from the recurve bow. I'll post a video of me shooting premium and grenade tipped arrows from the Hunter bow, the lowest level bow in the game.

In the first video it took 2 premium arrows from the hunters bow to kill the level 3 wolf, in the second video it took one premium arrow from the recurve bow to kill a level 3 wolf. It took 3 grenade tipped arrows from the hunters bow to kill a level 2 bear in the first video. In the second video it took 2 grenade tipped arrows from the recurve bow to kill a level 3 bear. The recurve bow has the red hand grip while the hunter bow has a gray colored hand grip.

damn that kinda upsets me since i cant load them from starter bow but i havent tried for a while now

You know I couldn't really remember myself until I went out and did the test, it's been so long since I used the hunter bow lol. Well actually I do use the hunters bow for rabbits because it doesn't always kill them, but not for the bigger game.
