Whenever I have a problem, I search Raw's videos first. Usually I find the answer.
Hi LE,
I don't think that is the answer, in Raw's video he got many crazy readings. 2 were 100% and the next 60%. He even had some with 0% light. It just didn't make any sense and there were no shadows to interfere. Although I am not a programmer, I would be leaning towards a error in the script.
Spacing as he showed did help but I still put a grow light on as soon as I could get the material and then it didn't matter, always 100%

@Dark Raven, I'll take a look at the video. Thanks for the link.
It seems many people get all sorts of readings no matter what they do.
Yeah he sure did help a lot of people, I will always be grateful. I am so glad his nephew decided to leave his YouTube channel up. I am referencing it all the time.
It seemed like he experimented with many things, then share the results. Oh yeah, back in December, he said you used to do some real funny videos with Animals and Hunters. He sent me some links. Very cleaver LE and so funny.
Well, moving them back away from the wall had no discernible effect; however, we replaced the wood half walls with glass and they went up to 70%. The funny part is that the walls that we replaced were like 1 to 2 foundations away.
So, it looks to me like the light that gets to the planters is NOT based on direct sunlight but on ambient lighting. Odd, but it does seem to have helped. I'll have to play around with it some more to find out what works better.
We have one base that we put the planters on the roof and MOST of them get 100% light. There will be a random one or 2 that only get 80% light.
This issue has plagued us for quite some time now, but at least CG made it so the rain does water the planters...that was a HUGE plus. Hats off for that one.
Thanks for all the ideas folks. Much appreciated.
EDIT:
Here's the updated view of the garden. Thanks again for all the help.
