Alpha 65 Now In Testing On Experimental
Hi there!

Just to let you know that I've moved the pre-release build of Alpha 65 to Experimental while I work on finalizing the update.

If you choose to opt-in, as usual I would recommend making a backup of your SaveData folder. Save games are forward-compatible as usual (you are free to continue existing profiles). Save games are technically backwards compatible, however any of the new (Alpha 65) items crafted/built would obviously be lost if you revert to Alpha 64, so i would recommend riding out the testing phase.

There are some fairly sweeping changes to the codebase, so I will be watching carefully for any issues that may arise, and will be pushing updates to correct any of these.

As mentioned, I still have some outstanding tasks to complete on the update, so expect patches fairly regularly before the public release build is ready.

I am yet to work on the release notes, and will try to update this thread with a draft once prepared. Some changes will be very apparent for regular players, many others will be less obvious.

From initial look. Added cable car seems cool. New 9mm pistol. And wood on ground can't find anything else atm.

Logged in and I was dead after this update had nothing and lost it all no death skull..I didn't realize there had been an update...

like the idea of having logs laying around on ground! sometimes I just feel so lazy & bored to chop wood....just to keep up the fire going etc unless I use coal.. so adding this feature is a pretty nice addition to just grab on the run! and as mentioned above, the red9 and cable car is also the only thing I've found so far

1. The gondola works very well. When you ride it, your hair blows in the wind.
2. The 10 rounds in the red are helpful.
3. The tree trunks lying around are a good alternative.
4. There are a lot more bags lying around, which is very welcome.
I couldn't find any faults.

I must say I can't seem to envision a use for the cable car. And what is the use case for the new pistol over the ones we have?

YESSS!! Another update thank you! This has to be the most addictive game I have ever played and it just keeps getting better!
Loving the logs on the ground makes log collection so much faster, the shells flying out of the guns is a nice touch, love the red pistol. Think there is more loot now? I havent seen the Gondola so assuming thats in the Lathe?

logs are far too plentiful, really not much need to use an axe on a tree any more.

In the time it would take to chop two trees I picked up 20 logs in a very small area without having to stop running.

I was considering this. I'm hoping to get more feedback from the community on how much to dial this in. There is a fairly lengthy respawn timer on them, but I think you are right, it might be a bit much at present.

Aesthetically the logs are a wonderful touch to an already beautiful game! I agree there are a large number of them all around. Early game experience is enhanced by this to offset the initial build requirements. A couple of thoughts on it: 1) increase the respawn timer more; 2) have the small moss covered ones be a fixed part of the landscape instead of usable. This way the aesthetics can remain.

Is there a limit to the length of cable run? Was hoping to use it for transport out to the island
