New Inventory slots
Could we get more inventory slots and also strip the hunters of their body armour, weapons etc when we kill them?

You can already carry the equivalent of a freight train in your pockets and you want to carry more?

Honestly I think we have enough slots, in both inventory and on the body of our character lol

If the map gets expanded to such a degree that it would take more than a day to head back to your base, I think having the ability to craft a backpack that adds a few extra slots would be nice for the long journey. Right now I think it's reasonable the amount of slots we have. As for looting the armor and weapons of hunters, well, it does sound like a nice and logical idea but there's a balance problem that could arise from this.

I think there should be a backpack weight limit, and a system like in TLD where being overburdened causes you to walk slower aswell as using energy, hunger ect. faster.

Then i would like to see a blueprint system, like in The Forrest where we can build and be creative without spending lots of materials on wrong parts. That would sort the weight aspect of carrying foundations and the like.

I have searched the discussions, but there are a lot of them hope someone from CG sees this - when you kill a Hunter and you can see their clothes/helmet/jacket you should be able to loot them. If they were shooting me with a gun or bow, I should be able to loot them. Game balance is great, but realism should be mixed in. He is dead in the dirt in front of me and has better clothing than me and I am freezing to death - but I can't get his shirt/pants/jacket/helmet - fun game but maddeningly stupid in some elements. If you don't want me to have his gear then add a game element - "dialog" his jacket falls apart as you pick it up, next time shoot for the head - LOL. Or at least let us break it down for cotton or something. Don't have game elements that make no sense like magically disappearing rifles that he was just shooting me with!!! Or dialog - this poor fellows weapon is in bad shape you wonder how he was shooting it and make me repair it or something, but don't just leave it as it is. Thanks for listening. Also, I have 100's of games on my profile and have been gaming since 80286 computer processors. This game grinds just a bit too much. The balance of fun vs. grind is a bit off. It is not to bad as I have been playing for about 60 hours, but I am about to abandon the game because at 60 hours in, I should be able to self sustain, not search every day for magic loot bags. Get rid of the loot bags and replace them with something realistic. Check on subnautica - no magic loot bags but one of the best crafting games ever.

Regarding the looting of enemy armor and weapons, it is indeed immersion breaking when you cannot loot them. Hopefully in the future he can think of something to make it more interesting and balanced. Right now I think there are other more important priorities to tackle.

Game could just say: Its a nice jacket but sadly not your number :D
As for the guns they could all drop weapons with like 1 hitpoint remaining so its too expensive to repair but you dont care because at least you looted the guy.:steamhappy:

Actually the same could be said for armor. After all you just killed the guy the armor MUST be damaged likely severely.

At the very least, looting the hunters gear could just be a way to throw some stuff in the mass fabricator. I personally get irritated over mass.
Akeel May 3, 2021 @ 6:09am
I'm having a hard time finding the slot to throw stuff into the mass fabricator so I use the Recycler instead....lol

The number of slots also forces you to create storage in your base. Dying with all that stuff can get expensive when you are a new player. For those of us who have been around the game a long time, we don't die...typically.

Why not adding a weight value to each item and material?

That way we should take care of space and weight
hyperion May 3, 2021 @ 8:26pm
Yes, you can build more storage crates and tie them to your back with one of the big ropes.

We are fortunate that we dont have weight penalties and are slowed down to not being able to move due to penalty of over weight . Thankyou cold games.
