I can't speak for your fruit and Veg but I have 5 game profiles and they all degrade in my Fridges. The Screenshots should be proof enough. So I guess we just have to agree to disagree. No big deal.
As for for eggs, I have to keep raising Chickens because I need a constant supply of Premium feathers. As I use the Bow with premium arrows 99% of the time. I have between 10 and 16 chickens rotating all the time so there is an average of 25 eggs a day. The eggs get used all the time because I feed the chickens Steak and eggs. The tomato's are just for me... :)
not a year ago IRL, a year in game playing 365...
i started a new profile when the update came out in the new area... i'm almost 600 days in. the first stack of blueberries i got to 100 i took the stack out and let it rot down to 99 with a full bar, then put them back in the fridge.
then i let a different stack rot to get a fresh bar, then took one of them and added it to the stack of 99 to give me a full stack of 100 with a full bar.
i haven't touched that stack at all since before my first winter, and i'm about to start my second winter with that stack of 100 still at full health.
nothing rots in the fridge.
Another nice example. Of course cooking recipes are nice and I did the same as you Slaw, always used only bows (not always premium feathers but only bows)
As Punkerich points, cooking recipes, one of the main game features are "more or less unncesary" and their most common use is to feed the chickens (either tomato soup or steaks and their own eggs)
Do you really you consider cooking recipes and chicken demands ingame something well thought, designed and developed?
Sorry RCLAC,
It was me telling Slaw about feeding Steak and Eggs to Chickens LOL
Today I got lucky, picked up 3 apples but by I got the second one the first was already 2/3 degraded, I picked up a second, fresh apple... and a third... the stack was 2/3 degraded... I ate one... still the stack was 2/3 degraded - split the remaining 2... both 2/3 degraded.... the original apple dictates the level of degradation...
Currently the only way to avoid this is put your new apple or blueberry from loot chest into separate inventory slots and not use the "take all" option. However, when picking blueberries from the ground, kelp, onions, potatoes and carrots from the wild, there is no way of controlling them being placed in a separate slot so they stack with existing partially degraded fruit and veg of the same kind. Neither of these options is either logical or IMO an appropriate mechanic. I will be very disappointed if this continues to go unaddressed.
Yes yes :)
Sorry Slaw and Raw... XD
