That is, CG could UP the number of seeds extracted from a tomatoe but then he would have to make growing them much more costly.
In the current state of the game, they never go bad (on the vine or in hand) and this makes them a very valuable commodity. I currently have MORE tomatoes that I can eat (two upgraded grow beds and a crate fully stacked).
Perhaps in the future CG will reinstate the 'Perishability' of tomatoes but for the time being IMHO the current balance is, if anything, stacked in our favor ;)
(1) Start with one seed you found in a loot crate.
(2) Plant the seed and get 25 tomato from the one plant.
(3) Assume 35 seeds harvested from each tomato, about 875 seeds.
(4) Plant all 875 seeds and assume a 75% germination rate, about 656 plants.
(5) Now you have 22,960 seeds.
Repeat steps 2-4 one more time and you end up with 602,700 seeds. Continue this cycle 3-4 more times and you have enough seeds to cover the entire map in seeds 5 feet thick!
So... the game cannot be totally realistic with regards to tomato seeds.
Just noticed it was 2 tomatoes per seed, Thanks.
I laugh a lot with this post!
