Just follow the edge of the snow at the base of the mountains (cougar farm route) and you will see eagles flying. If it is flying in a straight line, wait until it starts to circle then search that area for a nest.
I had to move higher up the mountain to find the nest. You`ll need the climbing equipment, get above the nest, climb down onto the nest to collect pristine feathers, but beware the eagle attacks when you go to the nest. When I killed the eagle there were only damaged feathers in its inventory. Hope this helps
Edit: Found another nest without an eagle flying near it this time, but once you steal the feathers, one appears and attacks.
nothing...
i'm curious if all the building i did in the mountains may have screwed up the spawning area
Run around the mountain just a bit above the snow line. They look like a branch sticking out and you use the ice picks to climb up to them. I ran around the entire mountain and only found them on the east and north sides.
I doubt building up there disturbed them. They are not where you could build easily.
Hi Keyser, do you mean the interior of the map? I went on instinct and thought there might be nests, was only a wild guess if I`m being honest. Only spent 10-15 minutes checking trees for nests in the middle of the map before heading to the mountains. Start at the base of the mountains, south of the eastern lake and follow them all the way round, just keep checking the sheer face of the cliffs as that`s where I`ve seen the most nests. Have played in both September and August and found them in both months.
As I said in my edit in the post above yours, even if you don`t see an eagle flying, there may still be a nest, the eagle spawns when you climb into the nest and steal the pristine feathers.
Also, just a heads up, the glider is a death trap, use with caution xD

Pleeeease let it be that the eagle swoops down to catch a rabbit!!!
Thanks for the heads up, now I`m bursting with anticipation as to what it could be, cheers!
No worries m8, cheers!
Shhhhhhhh! ;)
TBH I was in two minds about posting the new stuff in case of spoilers but decided to as it is arguably more helpful than spoiling content for anyone....well I hope that`s the case.
not a single nest to be found, or any eagles flying around, and i spent 3 days looking.
i built a solar powered shack at the top of both mountains with a bridge of death (no sides) connecting the two (the south mountain top is slightly higher than the north one by about 2 walls if anyone is curious).
hope that didn't mess up the eagles...
also much appreciated with the map screen shot... but it's not there for me.
As Zuleica said, I highly doubt building up there would stop spawns as the nests I found have been fairly well spread out. This may be a silly question but are you on experimental?
I would also maybe try leaving experimental, restarting steam and entering experimental again.
Wish I could be more helpful but that`s all I can think of to maybe fix your issue, sorry m8, hope you get it sorted out asap.
i appreciate the help, and i just came back here to post an interesting screen shot...
so i restarted the game just to see if it helped and maybe it did and maybe it didn't... there's a chance i was just missing them before but i don't think so because i would have noticed this:

lol
wherever the eagle flies, it leave those strange red vertical lines in the sky as it moves around... like some sort of freaky DEW beam from a spy satellite.
it's like an indicator of where the eagle is flying, even if you can't see the bird because you're to far away, you can see the red lines...
thanks again for the help everyone, my mission to create the hang glider and launch from my giant glass elevator tower is now underway.
