Animal housing (11/15/2018)
1 :We put a chicken, caught "by hands", so, totally alive, we put it in the animal housing, there were a little water and food, in, and... some minutes irl after, she was dead, and there still have food and water... what did we miss?

2: can we mix chickens and rabbits?

3: chickens give 1 egg/day or only 1 egg/level? (if it's by level, does it worth all the "work" for only that?)

Edit; i saw a video and the guy put the chicken in the top eight squares, and it was not possible for us, we only could put it in the 4 down squares... ^^

The chickens and rabbits go in the top eight squares. Food and water into the middle. The eggs and animal feces bulid up in the bottom four squares.
Only one egg per level from 2 to 10.

Level 10 animals give more fat and higher grade meat.

Perhaps you couldn't see the top 8 squares because you had the upgrade tab in front?

Even catching one by hand doesnt mean it has full health, it also loses health as you keep it in your inventory so you need to get them in an animal house asap.

Yes you can mix chickens and rabbits although rabbits arent even close to the benefits of chickens.

IMO yes its worth raising chickens. The level 10 chicken butchers into a full chicken, 6 fats, some regular feathers and 7 premium feathers(used to make premium arrows.) The way i look at it is the eggs and poop i get along the way are just bonuses.

I really don"t understand why i couldn't put the chicken in the top 8 squares that i saw perfectly and i really don't understand why it was possible to put it in the squares dedicated to eggs and fences!

Tx both.

Now it works normally, i think it's the fact that we deco/reco, like at our first bcu, we didn't see the beacon (after several minutes) and we had to deco/reco and all was ok, too.

Now, we are in a new game, we put 4 animals (3 chickens and a rabbit), we have the upgrade that they can eat and drink around the animal housing,(we well clicked on the option, inside the animal housing), and, after a short time, it only stays, visually, only 1 chicken... but is still stays written: "animals 4/8".

I saw in videos that we can see the animals around, no? and they don't produce egg (except the only one who stays, 1/level), so, what happened? killed by grenades by hunters? (because the animal housing is regularly attacked by hunters, so is it possible?), killed by wolf/bear? (possible?)

First off, only 3 will visually leave the housing for free range, altough they all get the benefit.
Yes the hunters can kill them with grenades, but they would not show 4/8 if that were the case. More likely they are still roaming around, click the free range off and see if they come back, might log out to make that quicker.
I've never seen them killed by other predators, but I don't know for certain.

Lastly 4/8 will consume food/water rapidly, far to quickly for me to go out and gather. I prefer to instead build another housing and only put 2 in each, this allows a decent food/water consumption rate to leave unattended for a day of gathering.
Another helpful hint is to fence in a little pen for the animals so they do not roam to far away.(railings, half walls, etc.)
Hope this helps

Tx a lot for your detailed answer.

Our house is built on rocks, so we had to put our animal housing a little farther from us (on the nearest ground we found), we had to build another BCU.
When the hunters come, they regularly attack the place where there is a foundation+wall+BCU and the animal housing... Is it possible to destroy that BCU and the animal housing will still be available? will it stop hunters to attack it?

actually yes the housing only needs the BCU to be placed down, not to function thereeafter, so you may destroy the bcu and the housing will still be operational as usual

Thanks.
And so? if no BCU, no attack by the hunters, who will be focus on my main BCU and base?

Classy is to answer to oneself :-P
After dissassembled the special BCU we made, to put the animal housing a little far away from our base (to put it "on the ground", our base is on rocks), the hunters/rogues stopped to throw grenades on it, they reconcentrated to attack the area of our main BCU, perfect!
