[Suggestion] Moveable Placeable Objects
It would be nice to be able to pick up an object I crafted and placed and move it somewhere else... without a resource cost.

Sure, if you want to deconstruct something, there should be a resource cost, but if your simply moving it it shouldnt cost anything. Now ive got a animal pen in a wierd spot that took quite a bit of resources to build and I might just build around it instead of loose those resources.

For structural items (foundations,walls.etc.) a free look camera with zoom would be nice while in a "construction mode". Rotational snap of 15 degrees and all structural items placed can be removed and relocated until a confirmation is made leaving construction mode. Then there after a heavy deconstruction price.

For non-structural items (furniture, chests, workstations.etc) no constrction mode needed to place. Items can be picked up, moved and rotated 15 degrees with no penalty
thats a great idea about a confirmation system but i think it should be for every item, also let us rotate like to have the "hard" side of the wall outside or inside since if u rotate right now it rotates but not in the way it should be, i doesnt mean they should delete the rotation system thats into the game now, i means keep that one and add another one to rotate in the same place so u can actually place walls etc from outside without place it with the inside part outside
You do know you can rotate the objects already by using your numpad keys.

yeah i know but isnt it 45º? i mean rotate the wall for example without rotate it to any side just like change the "hard side" to outside or inside

Not really understanding what you are trying to say. What "Hard side" are you talking about?

right now if u place the wall from outside the base, the wall will be like bad placed with the lower armored side looking to outside the base but if u place it from inside it ends placed how it must be, with the weak side inside the base and the well armored side looking to outside the base

You can rotate the ghost image before placing it by using the numpad keys 4 and 5.

+1 For moveable objects
-1 For timers to move objects after initial build.

Alot of times i'll start with like a 3X3 then gradually as i get materials add on rooms etc etc, and i'd like to move the stuff into the new rooms i'm creating as i go for it. :)

Here is the problem, in eventual multiplayer. Without a timer or some limit, in player vs player, you can just move stuff to prevent it from being destroyed.

I don't care about pvp mechanics, therefor not a problem.

On a side note it's not hard to make an option for configuration on said timer if it existed, but personally pvp = my epeen is better then yours, never liked it, never play it, and could care less :)

Hopefully i hope this game doesn't get good pvp mechanics as EVERY survival game i've ever played was ruined by pvp griefers/cheaters, you spend months gathering/building just to have someone come in and destroy it.

I agree. I would be totally fine with no pvp. But once every few weeks we have a meltdown post about it. So maybe the best option is Timer on pvp, no timer on solo. done

Building parts are built in sections. So when you disassemble something, you don't break it apart, you disassemble the section. So "realisticly" the entire section should be placed back in your inventory, not 1/2 of the raw materials. Same goes for generators, furnaces, lamps etc. That's what I would like to see.

Maybe instead of being able to move things have it break down into everything you used to build it. Minis mass and power.

i wish this feature was in, I built my base but realise now I have so much wasted space, I cant afford to deconstruct everything

I agree, i also feel this feature is missing in many of my favorite survival games. And it's a pain in the ass when you place something and realize it was slightly off, or the wrong rotation.

I was thinking of having a timer after placing a buildable, whereby you have x amount of time to cancel the placed buildable by pressing delete.

It's actually already on my list, so hopefully I'll get around to this soon.

Why not just let us move items? Is it an issue with programing? Or you just don't like the idea?

This game seems to feed on realism. Wouldn't it be totally realistic to be able to move our items? What's the downside?

Maybe they are too heavy? Ok, maybe put a new buildable item in game. The hand truck. I use them everyday at work lol. Once we craft that item we can move out stuff.
