Does anyone know how to get chickens in the animal housing?

i was curious about that myself, i thought of making a "chute" out of foundations and walls that would force the chickens/rabbits towards the animal housing to see if anything happens, still need to make a "chute trap" for hunting the little buggers lol.

Have the chicken in your inventory and put it in the pen just like you would store things in a box. Don`t forget to add fruit/veg and water otherwise it will starve to death like mine did, tasted delicious though :)

how do you catch them?

You have to chase them, it is a pain, but eventually you can catch up to them and hit F, be careful though, they love running to bears and wolves.

As for rabbits good luck, they are very fast.

I did once manage to make a chicken unconscious after shooting it, but that must have just been luck.

Rabbits drop when their health is at 5/30. You can pick them up alive then.

BTW, chickens don't die in a storage box. You can keep 'em there as long as you want.

Shoot a rabbit 2 times with your pistol. Then pick it up. It will self heal as you feed it and level it up. You can also shoot a chicken once and chase it, it seems run slower when shot once. (Might be my imagination.)

Taking down a chicken or rabbit provides a chance that the animal will become injured (rather than die). When injured, the animal can be added to the housing and it's wounds will heal over time. Remember to feed them though. This also allows them to level up, which provides much greater resources when butchered. The level cap is currently 10 (or 3 without the free-range upgrade).

Wonder why it takes 2 9mm rounds to kill a chicken or rabbit? the 9m might as well be a BB gun.

Because, it gives you the chance to actually wound them, causing them to drop to the ground barely alive. Meaning you can pick them up without chasing them, and bring them home and put them in the animal housing.

Dont need the chance to wound them when I can catch them. so not buying it.
