As for rabbits good luck, they are very fast.
I did once manage to make a chicken unconscious after shooting it, but that must have just been luck.
BTW, chickens don't die in a storage box. You can keep 'em there as long as you want.

Because, it gives you the chance to actually wound them, causing them to drop to the ground barely alive. Meaning you can pick them up without chasing them, and bring them home and put them in the animal housing.
