How do we store food longer?

Currently my friend and I are storing food in the fridge but just like in real life the food goes off after some time. As little as a few days in some cases. We note the fridge is kept on the entire time.

Can anyone give off a solution to store food longer. Thus far we have not been making any meals via the stove. Do meals last longer in the fridge than raw and cooked meat? Does cooked meat last longer? Is there a freezer at all?

Any advice on how to make food last longer for the upcoming winter cycle would be appreciated.

I have 7 fridges at my base and have never had any food go off. sounds like a bug

Fridge is the answer, you need to make sure it has power at ALL times. If you craft something and it takes the power level past the fridge usage it can shut fridge off. Mass rep will shut off fridge if past operate power level.Other than that veggies seem to last the longest. I have had zero problems with fridge food going bad, unless the power went below and shut it off.Upgrade the fridge to run at .11 and BCU runs at .33 should be good while away exploring. Yes Thank You we are aware of the auto shut off. Must be a bug. We are reporting issues with the fridge power being constantly on as players that are aware of the fridge auto shut off feature. Good to know food does not go off in the fridge. Due to the bug we are experiencing we were unsure. Thanks for confirmation. NOTE* we have not upgraded fridge ... we will do that next ... that said, we have made sure the fridge is running at all times which is why we are confused.

It's not a bug that the fridge goes off when power drops and doesn't come back on, been like that the entire time there has been a fridge.

Also fruits, veggies and eggs do not spoil and it is totally unnecessary to put them in a fridge.

Food in the fridge doesn't go bad. You had to lose power and the fridge shut down. I have 3 and there full of food. I am on day 142 with No food lose.

Is your fridge turned off when you come back to it because when the power goes to zero and the fridge shuts down it stays off until you restart it even when you have power again, so if it was a lack of power then the fridge would be off,if the fridge is still running and your foods gone bad then its a bug

Food never goes bad in the fridge. You just need to be more careful about your power reserves.

Unless I’ve read the op wrong hasn’t he said he’s aware of the auto shut off? And the fridge has had constant power?
Sounds like a bug.
