You can turn off or set the hunters to make it easy on you.
You cannot have "6" hunter bases around you.
Max number of hunter (base-building) squads: 2 Easy, 3 Normal, Hardcore & 4 Co-op (with a max of 3 per targeted base).
Max rogue squads on the map at one time: 2 Easy, 3 Normal, 4 Hardcore & Co-op
I do think ColdGames needs to have the hunters have progression like we have as in not having high lvl weapons until after their bases are built up.
I love taking on the hunters with nothing but a bow (and lots of bandages and med kits as well)

80% of gamers move on eventually in any game they buy.
If you cant beat a hunter with that crap pistol, learn to shoot accurately.
I have looked at several of your posts about this game and in all honesty the majority of what you say is either wrong or just comes down to you being bad at this game.
All I can suggest is turning hunters off until you get yourself more established and familiar with the game.
I do how agree that some balancing is needed.
It is designed for everyone. Set the game to "easy" difficulty, that will reduce the amount of hunters, rogues, hunter bases, and animals. Turn the hunters attacks off, that will stop them from attacking your base giving you the option to decide when to fight hunters.
With the struggles you have mentioned in previous posts i would suggest that you start a new profile on easy with hunters turned off. Once you have your base built, the better guns, a decent stockpile of ammo, heavy clothes, helmet, vest, and whatever else you want then you can change things.
At any point you can change from easy to normal without losing your save. At any point you can turn hunters on and change their attacks without losing your save.
If you change those settings and get in a tough spot, you can change them back to whatever you want without losing your save.
With all those options that you have that wont cause you to lose your save, i dont know what else could be done to make the game for everybody.
Or you can just change the settings on your current profile if you dont want to start over.
Turn the hunters off and they will be gone when you load your current save.
And people wonder why Dev's don't like forums....
While i don't agree, i CAN understand why some ignore the forums
completely. I would also guess, most of the complainers would react
badly if someone tried to tell THEM how to do there job. If they even
had one.... Like ever...
So , everyone is gonna say, turn hunters off, but they are part of the game, so they should be on. The game is screaming out for some balancing, hope Coldgames listens.....
Anyway once I got my base to a place I felt a bit more comfortable - 19 or so game days in, i turned hunters on but set them only to retalliate attacks.
I am now around 50 days in, killed multiple hunters, slowly upgrading my base with alloy walls since I have already done the doors etc. Loving the game so far.
Have only had the one lock pick which I already used and have not made another yet, so far tho i got my planter boxes going with tomatoes and cotton - oh so slowly on the cotton tho, and have been hunting the bears that spawn on my little peninsula of land where I made my base...
Slowly getting my base worked out and dealing with the occasional hunter retaliation - usually after I have shot them when i ran across their base etc. Alternatively there are 2 hunter bases I actually avoid now they are further away and one I intend to kill all of them and destroy their base eventually cos I feel they are too close :D
Total noob at the game, totally loving it and thank you to cold games for giving us the options to turn on and turn off things as we desire :)
For the OP - I don't play 8 hours a day etc I have a real job far more demanding :)
The takeaway from this little diatribe for you IMHO is don't despair or give up, use the various game modes / settings to set the game to a level suitable for you without losing your save...
I'm currently on easy / retal hunters and that is working for me.
I consider the small investment in the game worth it. I got many hours of fun out of it. I am also watching carefully to see if we actually get the granularity in settings for the hunters CG mentioned last month. If we do the game might well become interesting again.
I put my base in the middle of the lake, now it has been much easier to deal with the hunters. They are very annoying
