Food that requires cold?
So, can we have some sort of thing that says what needs to be in the refrigerator? Like soup or tomatos or meat and such? I get meat, but I usually have tomato, potatos and soups and my meals in the refrigerator? I wish we could get a bit more clearly to how long something can last and what require or make any diffferent if placed in a refrigerator and what can you just have in your storage?

Maybe we can get some sort of freezer? to make meals last longer?

You know about meats and I will add anything you make (soups, meals) also have to be placed in the refrigerator.

That is what the current refrigerator is - it stops the spoil timer of meat and meals.

I would really appreciate this too. It's really unclear what is perishable and what is shelf-stable. Are cooked meals all perishable even if all of the ingredients are shelf-stable? Are uncooked eggs perishable? Are cooked foods with meat perishable?

And then there's the question of whether time to spoilage is remembered. If I take something out of the freezer for a while then put it back will that time make the food spoil faster the next time I take it out of the freezer?

Yes, it would be nice to have more info about such matters. I also didn't know the spoilage of some of the foodstuffs and had to google it for clarification when I was new to the game. Maybe a lore book or notebook that we can craft(you know, to make it fun), which will explain in-depth all of the ingredients and other things in the game.

I knew what you meant :) I was being sarcastic.

But he did thoroughly answer the question. Why should he waste his time summarizing in writing what is clearly explained in a product he already spent time producing? Give the guy credit for answering someone's questions so thoroughly...none of the rest of us did.

I knew you knew what I ment 😛
Look I’ve nothing personal against 00 I’ve watched some of his videos and they can be informative and at times entertaining and he has been helpful across this forum many times I’ve seen.
However it’s my opinion that he’s using this forum to help advertise/promote his YouTube channel but that’s my opinion and many may disagree (that’s fine) and equally I may be completely wrong but that’s for steam to decide not me.

I rarely if ever watch youtube videos on games. I don't see this specific instance as an advertising attempt but as efficiently answering the questions asked. If I had that video to link I personally wouldn't waste my time recapping it.

I wasn’t thinking of this particular occasion when I posted in this thread, which was my mistake I shouldn’t have posted on any thread as back seat moderating or trying to is also against steam rules.
Anyhow I’ve said what I think and shall not comment further in regards to the matter it’s not for me to decide what’s right or wrong on this forum.

Yeah, if you want to know anything and the information was compiled and presented for you in a form of, in this case, a video clip, that might also bring a couple cents to it's owner without you paying anything or bringing any other sort of inconvenience to you, what problem should you have with that? IMO, no problem at all.

It's not like you have to sit through 8 ad plugs in 10 minutes AND have an ad integration somewhere inbetween, like a multitude other content-makers out there. Just saying.

Eggs, tomatoes and bottled water is what I take with me on every trip. I never have hunger problems. They can of course always be stored in storage crates as well. They do not spoil and they stack, (100 Eggs, 40 Tomatoes and 100 bottled water) providing all, protein, veggies and hydration. I do of course have refrigerated food as well.

I think it would be nice if this information would be in-game so it says like tomato last this long and if it matters if it's refrigerated or just in a storage

had this game since launch, i think that if the food icon itself changes per state of spoilage. so at 75% a steak icon starts to get a little darker or green/white mold spots start to appear. i just feel something to that effect would fit the game style a bit more, but other than that i fully agree there does need to be some indicator of spoilage.

No there is no change before it goes to the spoiled state.
