And the elevator is not indicative of it's "current path" as odd choices like that have cropped up from time to time. A game that has consistent updates for over three and a half years and the updates have a record of being largely defect free is a really good indicator of being on the right path despite odd design decisions of which some of us do not agree.
But the entire idea that the dev doesn't pay us enough attention in forums? Really? How about the 'attention' he pays us is through his effort? That's not 'good enough'?
I have had moments of brutal honesty with the unbalanced approach that is sometimes used in new game elements. BUT, the recommendation of a game shouldn't be based on whether or not the dev is all over the forums talking to the players.
Would I like a bit more feedback from CG - yes. But that is only to a point. If he comments on every new thread, he isn't coding and developing the game.
Does the game have holes, yes. It also has some truly amazing upsides. I am hoping for the continued success of the game so that CG can continue to develop it.
Prinocio is a new player from what I can tell, so, grace is deserved but his reasoning for telling possibly new customers to not buy it is really jacked up and Critical was addressing that element of his comments. In order for any developing game to survive, it needs new players, new ideas, new feedback...not less.
+100 for Canuck - Ice_freezer and Sifner : Some people don’t seek to understand. They just want to spout their opinion.Usually, when people give there opinion here, it’s not to resolve an issue or to understand each other, it’s just about spouting my opinion. So I say only wait to my friends , for me wait to buy is " NO ".
So in summary and TLDR, happy Friday all.
Terry, Zul, Critical, Duck, etc. have been around this game almost since it's birth.
Maybe with the new path, you get excited ... that you can take the elevator to your wife's bedroom on the third floor.
Commodore... hmmm... When I was young (and handsome) I had good friends, Amiga's that gave me many reasons to love them. Maybe 500, 600 or even 1200 ;-)
And no endless discussions. Just fun and the odd blue screen...
True facts! Actually got her into a bunch of the multi and single player survival games- she likes the base building aspects when they have it oddly enough. I can take em or leave em!

this is his frist game i belive at least on steam. if his developer profile for steam is not private then you should be able to see his list of games etc. and he is a solo developer for all the new people who are looking to buy the game. non the less this game has surprised me over the top for a really well built and maintained community and game by far. i give him a 100/100 for the hard work and dedication he's putting into Subsistence and how much he has done to it. I don't think he's too worried about a website at this point. his selling point is all on Steam. after all why would a solo developer need a website for just him self. not that's it's not needed but who knows maybe he'll build one down the road in the near future.
Yeah, ColdGames gets 100/100 from me as well.
I've seen him reply to people that had problems almost instantaneously and help recover lost saves and such. This is the most responsive developer I've ever seen. And to think he's doing this all by himself is utterly amazing.
I got my money's worth alrready, everything else is gravy.
It's not easy starting out though. I was plenty frustrated until I figured out that taking you time and thinking about every move gets you there. One day I realized I was no longer strugling to survive...I was actually THRIVING. I still die now and then, but I know the map so well now, and have multiple bases and backup shacks for emergencies. I know how the animals react and even took out a hunter base for the first time today...then I died tring to do it again :)
It IS early access and in alpha and though the developer seems to be superhuman to do this in his free time, it's going to take a while with one person to get everything where he wants it.
I completely support this effort, it's pretty amazing.
