But there is very little realistic about the game, and I like it just fine the way it is. I mean you realize if you killed an moose in the wild you'd get more than one steak, or one rack of ribs or whatever. It's a fun game just as it is.
But adding jerky would be nice. One thing I like about the rogue like game UnReal World is if you kill a moose or an elk you actually have to deal with all that meat and process it, or tons of it goes to waste. And it's a good game but it's not nearly as fun as Subsistence. This is a lot better than games like 7 days where meat never spoils.
It doesn’t matter what kind of meat, the main thing is that the food has a shelf life of more than a day, so that you can spend more time further away from your base. On a hike, constantly killing animals and cooking meat is a waste of time, since the light day of the game lasts 10-15 minutes. Cooking meat takes more time.
I play on Family Sharing so no, I don't own the game if, you're concerned about it. I play it though.
