Can't move Inventory items around

I drag and go to drop an item into another location (ie, from my inventory to a storage locker, or another slot in my inventory), and it won't place/release the item. Item selected is just stuck in the air, moving around with my selection arrow. Can't even place back to same location. At some point esc out won't exit out of the problem and I have just to exit the game. Then, after I've restarted, the problem starts again after moving a few items around again successfully. Anyone else experience this?

Once or twice... I would verify files

Or try a Shift-Click, that also works.

I've had that happen a few times too. Can't get rid of the item off the cursor, right clicking doesn't work, shift clicking doesn't work. Can only save and exit and restart game. For me it usually started after I built my 3rd or 4th storage chest.

I never experienced this, even when playing on other people's servers in coop. Playing my own main coop profile (host mode), never had this happening despite having over a dozen chests being my main storage area in my base, and another dozen chests placed in various places on the map.

I would verify files of the game - and do it 2 or 3 times, even. If that doesn't help, i would then test your RAM (computer's memory) for errors (special software required). If memory tests find no errors, then i'd try to reinstall the game (completely, including removing game's registry info). If those don't help, then i'd definitely do a bug report with dxdiag data attached.

I have experienced this as well. Save/Exit and restart is the best solution in my experiences with this.

Perhaps making sure there is no problem with mouse drivers as well. Reinstal Direct X maybe.

Just had this happen today with some ash, I saved and restarted, that seemed to work

Follow Up: It happened once or twice more and then stopped completely. I did nothing to resolve it. Went away on it's own. If something was tweaked in an update, thank you. If not, must have been a very random glitch. Will follow up if it happens again.
