Finding grubbs

Do the grubbs come out of a certain type tree?

I don't know how many there are now with the last map expansion...not enough if you ask me seeing as how grubs are only found in them.

I got 12 in one day with a run around the map, missed one tree because rogues were camping it. Think there might be another one I missed, not sure though.

When I chop into a tree I get the message to get the grub but I can't actually pick it up. I'm hammering on the F button as fast as I can and it doesn't work. The message comes up for a split second and is gone super fast... am I missing something?

it goes into your inventory automicly if there is space ... maybe check the tool bar ;-)

Thanks for your reply. I've got free spots in inventory but I still can't craft the fishing lure. Says I have no grubs. Maybe the game glitched. I'll see if it works when I start another game. I'm only on day 2 anyways. If it works on a new game I'll post. 👍

I just checked and grubs go into your inventory automatically, whether you have auto log pickup on or off. Only 6 log trees have the grub, with the 6th log.

Alrighty, I'll try farming another tree and maybe that will help. Just seems odd that it would come up with the message to get something from the tree by pressing F when you actually can't. Looking forward to catching some real food in the game, my character is hungry...

Yeah, its user error on my part. You do only get them from the really big trees. I don't know why all the other trees say for can something from them when you actually can't though. Thanks for the help everyone. Looks like I'm having fish for supper!
