Accuracy of the guns in this game

Anyone know of the drop off ranges or spread on target of any of the guns in this game? I know the 9mm must have some spread on the target at range but I'm missing blatent shots with the 44 revolver some times. It's always seemed to me that the 7.62 rifle(SVT-40 rifle?) always hits on target as it is a rifle and should have no problem with accuracy. And the shotgun, I just don't trust my life to the shotgun, anyone know how good it is or when/how to use it? Thanks for your feed back

All except the shotgun have no spread. The shotgun has a fairly wide spread which is why I always recommend letting the predator start it's final jump and shoot it point blank from a crouch. I rarely engage hunters with a shotgun, you have to be directly in their face.

Pistols and the rifle have no drop and no spread. I've actually pulled off head shots on hunters from a distance where the iron sight completely covered their head.

Arrows have drop and no spread. You should practice at various ranges against a knot on a tree so you can recover most of your arrows.

I keep the shotgun equipped for normal roaming around for quick self defense against predators. If I know I'm entering a hunter area, or an area with the possibility of rogue camps I haven't already identified then I equip my rifle and use high ground and the rifle's zoom to scout 360 degrees. I only equip my 9mm if I have a wolf attack coming that I'm aware of in advance. I only equip the 44 if I know i'm going after a cougar.

Of course I switch to backups as I indicated above in the middle of a fight if I don't have an opportunity to tactically reload my equiped weapon.

So a shotgun is absolutely my go to defensive weapon for predator surprises in the field.

On further review, 1st shot WASS a hit, watch carefully, 4th shot was a miss.
5 shots - 4 hits, but if yur crouching you get a broken leg, happened a couple times now.
IT IS going to be a face to face an you better make hits cos dam thing runs over to you so fast. I have the combat vest an took 1 swipe, but it was close.
maybe switch to shotty for his charge? the 44?
BUT that first chest shot would drop em if modeled correctly
Theres no area damage specific modeling- so a head shot is same as body shot-until you exceed the hit points they come full strength.

@ Ribalder...I always aim down sights and get hits... most of your shots except for the first ones are not aiming down sights... maybe this is why you miss sometimes... use shotgun at close range...it is 2-3 times the damage of other weapons depending on upgrades.

when they charge Im forced to back up firing wildly from the hip- dont matter staying zoomed in they coming..they coming, either way takes more shots, anyways cant miss that close- ya shotty- chk vids here-

Damage wise, there is no reason to use an SVT in CQB as the Shotgun will always out perform it.

After the first SVT hit, it would have cost you one shotgun shell for the wolf, and 2 for the cougar.


Beyond that, you've been complaining about wanting the hunting to be more realistic.

Yet you turned your back on a predator that you knew full well was there.

A smart hunter would have simply used 1 shotgun shell to ensure the primary hunt was not interrupted.
