I play this Game many Hours ( 147 ) and i know that i must shoot with the Shotgun if the Animal is near me and i need only one Shoot but Today i need 2 and i do it like i do it every Time.
But how i say, for me its feel not like an easy Mode.
look on youtube , there are 2 channels with this game, try and learn. easy means easy. it is a survival game not a building game, not a farming game. if you've bought the game it is a verry good investition. try and leard and read the tutorials.
hight will help get up high and survey the area look ahead for things and plan you route dont run every where or u will deplete your energy and not be able to sprint away from danger if it comes looking so keep energy up eat berry's and add to water for better stat dont kill wolves on your first day shoot three rabbits or catch some chickens they pause every time they run and you can run them down or bunny hop your choice it all works to catch them , get fibre and wood till you find nails and trie to survive in game
The limiting factor from stopping it being 'easy' seems to be protein. Creeping around and avoiding predators isn't that hard, but I for one find catching chickens a really perilous activity as it always seems to take me into bears and wolves.
It also takes two 9mm rounds to bring down a chicken. I had one trapped under my base and couldn't quite reach it, and the noise was driving me nuts, so I shot it in the mid-section at almost point blank range and it was stationary - the first hit drew blood but it was still standing, so only shut up after a second round. Next day I shot another in the wild - the first shot hit again, and had to catch up to it to get the second shot in to bring it down. Suggestion: chickens canbe 1-shot with a 9mm in Easy Mode !
Anyway, into day 3 and haven't died yet - but that's knowing the map and how to get things done, but 'easy' mode could probably do with being a bit easier - just reducing the hunger requirements would do it (else finding more protein bars. I found enough materials to make all of foundation, BCU, storage crate and wall on day 1, but only 1 protein bar).
Normal mode is fine. Haven't tried Hardcore yet, but it sounds hardcore (as it should be to live up to the name).
I noticed that too, 2 shells on a lvl 3 wolf, seems the one shot kill was nerfed?
lvl1&2 wolves can be 1 shooted with a shotgun, lvl3 i think has 125hp? the shotgun does 120dmg if all paletts hit.
for the gamemodes, i played easy and normal now and i definitly think that easy is more easy then normal , less wolves/bears and less hunters... but i think it needs a bit more then reducing the amount of enemys..
what i think should be added to the easy mode would be.
- more crates
- more loot inside a crate
- more loot from trees/fibers/enemys
- warmer nights
adding more loot to the creates would be good for the food managment too since u get more protein bars if RNGjesus is with u, but still that needs some tweaks too..
for myself i feel like the amount of enemys in easy is fine, but maybe a option for even disabling wolves/bears in a game would be nice for people who only want to build a huge base.
@OP actually patchnotes stated what exactly got changed.

for the hardcore mode which i didnt tested so i dont want to talk too much about it, but from what i saw on the forum people complain the most about the Heightened animal senses and aggression.
maybe take this out again and try it with less crates, loot inside the crates and less loot from trees to make that more challanging instead of the already hard wolves and bears
Cheers
