lol - all good questions. As for the Dev, from what I understand CG does this in his spare time ? First question might be 'can I go full time on this and quit my day job ?'.
If its your dream CG - go for it...you've got the goods.
Such as, and similar to Empyrion, you get a warning message when hunters are on their way to your base. The mechanism I propose is that hunters attacking your base is initiated by you raiding one of theirs..and specifically looting from their crate a communications radio. After this point the radio will provide you with intel on their attack planning giving you warning of the attack. Since you can actually now name your bases it would tell you which base is coming under attack. Perhaps with tactical details such as direction and force strength.
BTW, you can rename a base through the BCU.
Personally I'd prefer more primitive traps such as dead falls or pits, arrow
Traps, etc
That too ! Anything that stops them in their tracks. Something about a big boom though....
The future activities of the AI hunters concerning players base attacks
Good day all. These questions are mainly for CG, but maybe they are something that we all might need to think on. It is said in the future the hunters may / will attack our bases. So that leads me to a few questions. The provided feedback shall help determine base design, location and defensive fortifications.
1) How many hunters will attack at one time? Will it be one hunter or one camp? Will they join up and all nine attack at once?
2) How will they attack? Meaning will they go for the doors or attack wallls and foundations.
3) If no obvious entry way is present will they seek out alternative methods to gain entry?
4) What type of weaponary will they attack with? Three grenades, or fifty ?
5) What type of loot are they seeking? Supplies, animals, plant beds and or water?
6) Will they attack main bases or out buildings or both?
7) Will their raids be while we on on-line or off, or purely random?
8) What will be the reactions of the AI hunters if we log in or return and they are raiding our base? Will they duck run and hide or will it be Slaughter house five?
9) After a raid willl we get some type of data? IE:
3 hunters raided
expended 9 grenades
no loot taken
one hunter died due to bleeding out.
10 ) If the AI Hunters make it to your storage crates willl they take all of your stuff ? Will they take only a portion?
Well that is all for now, but the feedback will determine many things on the players side of the game. Thanks in advance.
I imagine you got no reply because it's not decided yet.
I posted this mainly to let the OP know that other players are also curious as to what he future holds. Also to provide the OP with thoughts he did not already have.
And no, it would be ridiculous to have them raid while we're offline.
My stategy as well, door after door, doors leading to nowhere, open a door and drop 3 stories to the ground etc. a maze to get to my loot
Hopefully hunters don't start attacking until much later in developement ie; after coop and defensive measures are adding. When you start seeing things like security cameras, ability to lock your door or electric fences you can start to worry.
I think the dev will not have them attack without the ability to know they're attacking and to defend. I personally don't want it to wait till COOP though. I really am seriously worried that COOP and MP will ♥♥♥♥ away the devs time and us SP players will not see anything interesting in upgrades for a long time after COOP/MP starts.
Indeed, flesh the game out 100% for SP before you open that can of worms.
