Bow and Arrow Raids! and has anyone gone bear hunting with bow and arrow?

I'm loving the bow and arrow!

My question would be, has anyone gone hunting for bears and wolves with a bow and arrow? If so, do you have any strategies?

i usualy hunt from my base when bears are close by. 5-6 arrows and any bear is dead. wolf i do 1-2 arrows from base and then go out and finish the job. you can also hunt wolfs in the wild with bow. just walk backwords jumping and it should be ok. takes practice not to die from a wolf with a bow.

Does jumping really speed you up? I used to use this method to catch chickens but running at them worked too.

I reserve the bow for small game obviously, however, I do use the bow on occasion with bears or wolves as well. Pull with an arrow, run to high ground (rock or shelter), and then finish them with bow shots as they demolish your planned foundation chunck placed in front of your door - so they demolish that instead of the door. For the realists, you can use rocks for this.

Hey Frank have you ever used arrows on the hunters door and if so any luck getting it down?

I never have used arrows on hunter doors...not sure why you'd want to when you don't have to use an expendable to break them down, an axe or pickaxe works fine.

I have not used it on hunters doors but I will try next time. My guess would be it gets stuck like on the tree.

i hav they do about 10 points a hit dammage to doors -per shot
good for saving ammo and grenades

Thanks for the info, I went ahead and tried to get into the Hunters base with arrows, I fell a bit short (started with 10). Each Arrow does 10 damage and as someone mentioned you can pull them out of the door and reuse them. Here is my almost success at it (again if I had more arrows I think the door wouldv'e dropped)

I notice you have a bridge between some rocks, if you stand on the bridge and shoot a bear, it will run to a spot beneath you on the bridge, then if you get to the very edge of the bridge you can shoot down on it (with a bow or any other weapon).

i take 30 with me and collect again as i go hacking through the door but is possibly faster than hacking through with the pickaxe .not sure never timed it seems faster than any thing else at the moment -good luck
