Hi there, could you please give us more information about the PC you are running the game on? Version of Windows, processor, memory (RAM), graphics card would be helpful to know. Thanks!

Processor: intel core i7 6700
Windows 10

Graphics card Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080

Thanks for those - with that kind of hardware, there's no reason the game should get hit by performance issues.

Could you please check that the game is running off your NVIDIA GPU, and not an integrated Intel GPU? There are two ways to do so:

  1. Edit the following line in the 'system.cfg' file located in the root of the install folder (by default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rapture\):

    r_overrideDXGIAdapter=X

(off by default = '-1'; try setting X to '0', '1' or '2' to cycle through available GPUs)

    OR:
  2. Follow the steps in this article:

what resolution are you playing ? 4K or 1080p ?

- check the latest Nvidia drivers 375.70
- also ctrl +alt+del and go to processes and right click EGTTR ( Everybody's Gone to the Rapture ) and select priority to high.

i dont have any issues ( i had before ! but now i dont have framedrops or anything ).

Misterfooks sadly I there is no line of text in the foler (r_overrideDXGIAdapter=X). The steps that the article showed, EGTTR doesnt show up so that wasnt an option for me.

My apologies - if the line isn't there, you can copy it from here & paste it at the bottom of the file. Let me know if that helps!

you can go to here to pick up a newer driver the 369.09 isn't the most recent one i have the newest one 375.70 driver you can get it here :

updated the driver for geforce but adding that line of text did nothing to help it seems that at some random parts i can move very fast but at times my fram rate just drops and i move very slowly.

Have you tried playing the game using Steam's Big Picture mode? I know it sounds strange, but I had the same problem and this fixed it for me.
Paulanim Nov 22, 2016 @ 8:15am
2 fixes found here, running it in steams big picture mode or exiting to task manager right click the running game go to details set affinity to run on no more than 4 processors and set priority to real time = butter smooth frame rate.

Was working... BUT Really laggy - but I have all the minimum reqs. Used the PCAdvisor link to optimise my NVIDA controls now I can't even open the game. Steam goes into a loop of running.. then Synching... then running and a window opens and closes repeatedly.

What I've seen of the game so far looks great - just my type of game... but now it won't run at all. Thoughts???

Specs: NVIDA PhysX GeForce GT 620
RAM 4 Gb
Intel 3.4 GHz
64 bitsytem

Tried restoring NVIDA to system default - - bestarted.. still won't open.

Anyone?

OK - Solution: Changed Screeen res to 800 x 600. Uninstalled my antivirus... and though clunky... worked.

Nice game, but 3 hours in and I've collected several 10 digit strngs and a sore thumb from moving forward at a snails pace for that length of time.

At least give us a push bike to ride... lol

No changes to GFX settings or even resolution helped improved choppy performance here, but launching from big picture did solve it, which points more towards bootlenecking within the execution of the game itself rather than rendering.
