How to set up the graphics?
I'm having some trouble understanding the graphics settings for this game. For instance, "Lights distance" - does that mean the distance at which lights are drawn, or the distance light reaches from its source (and if so, wouldn't that ruin the appearance of the game if I crank the setting?). Same goes for the texture resolution setting - it's on 'normal' now, but the settings 'half' and 'quarter' are positioned below it in the drop-down menu, suggesting it's a higher setting even though the name suggests they're lower settings. I'm just trying to make the game look as good as it can, I know my system can handle it (R9 5900X, RTX3080 12GB, 32GB DDR4). My current monitor doesn't go over full HD, so resolution is already at max.

- Lights distance does indeed determine the distance at which light sources are rendered - lower settings conserve resources while higher settings ensure lights in the distance don't simply 'pop in' as you get closer to them.
- Texture resolution 'normal' gives you the full resolution, while 'half' and 'quarter' are used to conserve video RAM on lower-end machines in exchange for blurrier textures. The fact that they're positioned underneath 'normal' in the drop down menu is just a quirk of the graphics menu.

One word of warning, in case you run into the same issue later on: At least for me, the game always defaults to capped 30 FPS when I start it (IIRC this has always been the case for me with GoaT, in all versions). I have to go to the graphics menu to correct that every time I start the game. So if you're suddenly getting low FPS, check to see if this is the issue.

That seems to be about right, yeah. Set it to all to the highest setting, texture resolution at normal and it's running smooth as can be. I'm not too fussed about the FPS - my monitor can only handle up to 75Hz, and I'm not that bothered by 30FPS. Most of the time I can't tell, until framedrops come into play.
Thanks for the tips!
