I'm stuck. Please Help. "The Stolen Ring"

[Case]

In the main story line at the quest "The Stolen Ring" I have to gamble for the ring. So I go to Bellar Larr (the friendly rat in the kitchen) which is the only place you can gamble for a ring.

He has that ring and after I won it I get an item "Silver Ring". But that ring is listed under misc, has a red mouse-paw placeholder icon and is not recognized by the quest. So the quest is stuck at "gamble for the ring" although I already got it. And since I already won it (including the popup window that Bellar removes his ring from his necklace and slides it over to me) it is not in the dialogue options anymore.

Silas is not accepting the misc ring item as well.

Is there anything I can do? I restarted and used sevral eariler savegames. It is the same each time.

It does not help you but I have the same problem !

When you had problems like this in Fallout / Elder Scrolls you usually had to use a console commadn to give you the missing item. Don't know if this is possible here. But I don't really see another way.

OK after alot of trying around it somehow worked in the end. What I did:

- used debug mode of the game (in the in-game game settings) and enabled the first option in the debug menu
- loaded a savegame
- used the full guard armor so i can safely walk up to Ballar
- did a normal gamble for florins first and made sure to lose at least one time and won one time
- then closed the dialogue again and first game gambled for the ring

I still got the same item with the paceholder image under "Misc" but it then progressed my story line. Hope it works for you too.

Thanks it worked !! For some reason I didnt have the guard standing in the kitchen so I never had to put up the armor! This game is so addictive I'm happy I can continue the story ^^

I encounter this on my first play-through. I didn't manage to resolve this and just opted to reload a separate save file.
I think this happens if you gave the spyglass to the two rats on the jail earlier on the game. I think you need to have the eyeglass with you before playing with the gambler.
Disclaimer: Not really sure though, just a guess.

I had this same issue. It was resolved by:

-loading a save from before you've played Bellar Larr for the ring
-wearing the full rat armor disguise
-playing him for the ring

he gives you an extra line of dialogue where he refers to you by your rat-disguise name (something like "i hope you'll afford me an opportunity to win this back from you, Scow") and then the quest objective is fulfilled

Hi Sorry for that glitch.
Since version 6.35, Tilo cant talk to the gambler if he is not fully armored.

That was the source of the glitch.
Anyone with a save corruption (have silver ring but cant give it to silas),
if you have no possibility of rollback to a previous save,
send us your save file at [e-mail] and we will patch it for you.

I returned to an earlier save to experiment here yesterday with some quests.

Unfortunately, I have encountered another issue where there simply isn't the option to gamble with Bella Larr for the silver ring.

Currently you cannot converse with Bella in anything other than rat armor, but even when you win a couple times the option never comes up to gamble for the ring.So you still cannot progress past this point. And yes, the quest is active in the quest menu as well.
