I found that while I was running around, the skeletons couldn't care less what I was up to and just focused on fighting my allies. But as sooooon as I picked up the brisance, all of a sudden they took great interest in me and would explode the bottles as I was holding them >:C
Something tells me there is a much easier and more clever method, but I haven't quite figured it out yet.
I found that the simplest way was to take the brisance furthest away first, since there would be less undead, then slowly move inwards. There are also caches on both side of the peninsula, if you didn't notice. The one on the northern side is surrounded by relatively few skeletons. You can also use the brisance to weaken additional undead, or use bottles and pinecones you've picked up throughout the game to clear out some undead.
Also try to keep Silas and Otto/Rolo nearby, as I found them focusing heavily on the undead that attacked me
ALSO also, The Gilded Armor you get from Duinlan has high fire and weapon resistance, and doesn't hinder your speed significantly. Eat at least one honey between each stage, as they heal the most
I got it on the first try, and took another two for not getting hit ;) I wore the golden armor, though I am not sure if it makes a huge difference.
Why did the devs do it I don't know, its like they gave one an ice cream and then ripped it away and threw it on the floor and stomped on it before one could eat it whole. Was tasty but the impression is spoiled if you understand what I mean.
- Use brisance to dig up the chest
- DO NOT OPEN the chest yet
- Save to File 1
- Grab brisance from the pile and place them around the chest:
- Directly in front of the chest, inside the crater
- To the right of the chest, just outside the crater
- To the left of the chest, just outside the crater
- Make sure that the explosion radius of the brisance is touching the chest
- Save to File 2
- Open the Ominous Chest and finish the conversation with Rezzia
- The brisance will disappear when the dead rise but don't worry, they'll come back later
- Proceed to recruit your friends and return to the shore to intiate the Final Battle
- Save to File 3
- During the Final Battle, the 3 brisance you placed near the chest will reappear
- Throw bottles/sticks or ignite the fuse with the candlestick to detonate them 1 by 1
- Win
WARNING: This may cause issues if two brisance casks explode at the same time and deal 2 damage to the chest. If this happens either a) load File 3 and try again, b) load File 1 and start the process over, or c) wait for a while and hope that the game corrects itself (there should be a short dialogue between characters after each explosion)REMEMBER: This is an exploit and can cause issues. Try at your own risk. If you do try it, using multiple save files are highly recommended.
There is no cheat in this game.
Try not to pickup a brisance and go to the chest in one step.
As soon as you see a skeleton going near you, drop and go fetch another.
Like that, you work on the three hits in parallel.
When you finally trigger the first hit, you should have already brisances not at shore but closer to the chest, letting the two remaining hits easier.
That strategy would fail due to time limit.
