NO SEWER KEY

I have been searching for about a hour in the same place and yes it is the bedside table by the bed in the jail room by the blacksmith.I am playing 4.90.Thank you

Is this still true? The sewer gate actually says that I need the Sewer Key. According to what I can find on the internet, it should be in the bottom drawer of the dresser in the jailer's room, and this bottom drawer is rather hard to open.

Complicating matter is that none of the drawers in the Jailer's room seem to respond to hovering over them with the pointer while getting close. They used to say "drawer (empty)" but now nothing. I'm not sure whether or not that's a bug?

You shouldn't be looking into things unless you get stuck. The current version of the game, v6.36, tells you how to get the Sewer Key as part of the main quest.

I can confirm, there is a Sewer Key. You get it from Silas when he tells you to go into the sewers to find someone.

To be precise, you *don't* get the Sewer Key handed by Silas, but a Quest that brings you to the Sewers (and renders you the Sewer Key as you proceed) goes via Silas.

Can you be more specific? Silas gives you a quest to go to Faustus, he's in the sewers, there is still no key. My wife has been playing the game all day long, now stuck and angry, HALP =)

Silas isn't the one who gives you the key, just the quest. Kerold the frog gives you the Sewer Key. Silas just tells you to talk to him about it.

When talking to the frog, he says nothing useful, and the only reply option is "farewell"... Looks like a game breaking bug to me.
I've seen this myself, since we tried another option to find the sewer key, from the youtube video, where you talk to the frog and he says to take the key from his pot.

Here's how to get it.

• Get cypher message from guard on ramparts
  
• Read message
  
• Talk to Kerold, tells you key is in the chamber pot behind him
  
• Check pot, it's not there
  
• Talk to Kerold again
  
• The key should be in the chamber pot now

Does not work for me either. I talk to Silas, who gave me the mission. Got the cipher message from the guard on the ramparts. It's says I cannot read it. I got the mission from the blacksmith to get his hammer, taking me to the two mice, and they gave me a cipher message to get their secret stash. I got their stash. I went back to Silas after giving him his hammer. He told me how to get to the sewers and how to find the Apothecarist (6 Florins total). I talk to the frog, and all I can do is say, "Farewell." I can't talk to the frog about the sewer key at all. I think it's because I can't read the cipher message, and so the quest never updates so I can talk to the frog about it.
